Signature is looking for a dynamic Social Media Manager to amplify our voice, grow our audiences, and bring our brand to life across digital platforms. Strategy
- Set goals for each social media platform on which Signature is active. Provide regular reports on progress towards those goals.
- Create a multi-platform strategy for each production, with unique content that works best for the platform.
- Create and implement strategies to grow user numbers on all active platforms.
- Continue to find new ways to engage audiences.
- Advise on when to adopt new platforms or new features on current platforms (for example newer platforms like Lemon8 or features like Instagram channels)
Planning
- Create and maintain an organization-wide social media calendar that is open to all staff to view.
- Pitch multiple ideas for new content regularly for discussion with the team.
- Work with staff across departments, including artistic, production, development, education to plan posts that require higher-level cross-departmental communication (ie: an artist take over) a few weeks out.
Content Creation
- Create interesting and engaging content, including images/videos and more.
- Create content that is both directly related to currently running productions as well as more general Signature-related content.
- Influencers:
- Cultivate and maintain influencer relationships.
- Produce live influencer events to promote programming
- Work with Deputy Director of Marketing, Director of Creative Content for any video content needs and help set up photo and video shoots and run live streamed events.
- Work with Publications Director to schedule any design needs with Signature’s graphic designer.
- Create audiences for all paid campaigns, track results, reassess and refine as needed.
- Facilitate giveaways and contests.
Reporting
- Responsible for tracking Signature’s social media analytics.
- Report on content and platform performance on a weekly basis, including cross-platform performance to create a full picture of a posts’ impact.
- Advise on what additional KPI’s to track and what results indicate success.
- Tracks spend and effectiveness of small in-house small campaigns (Signature uses a digital marketing agency for large campaigns) and revise as needed. Understand budgets, maximize spends, and provide back up reporting and cost assignment to finance team.
Additional Duties
- Set agenda for and run weekly social media team meetings.
- Work with Publicist on sharing earned media.
- Constant learning – social media is a fast-changing landscape, continuous learning should be a regular part of this position’s duties.
- Attend weekly marketing, bi-weekly creative content, and bi-weekly advertising agency meetings and contribute ideas for various campaigns.
- Work at Signature events and festivals in rotation with other staff.
Other duties as assigned by the Director of Marketing or Deputy Director Creative Content
DIRECT REPORTS AND OTHER REPORTING RELATIONSHIPS
- The Social Media Manager reports to the Director of Marketing, with the Deputy Director of Marketing, Director of Creative Content also having supervisory duties for this position in reviewing and approving content ideas. The position works closely with the marketing, development, artistic and education teams.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience in social media content creation for a business on Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, LinkedIn and TikTok.
- Skill in navigating the backend management of each of these platforms (ie: Meta Business Suite or TikTok analytics).
- Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent combination of experience and education. Minimum three years social media management experience required.
- Skill in taking photos and short videos that look good, and basic level of knowledge creating visual and engaging content using design (Photoshop/Canva) required. Basic knowledge of video editing using tools such as Final Cut Pro, DaVinci Resolve or Adobe Premiere. Knowledge of how to use a DSLR camera for photo and video a plus.
- Knowledge of theater and or the arts a plus.
- Experience working with high level and celebrity talent.
- Facility with numbers to support budget creation, monitoring, and reporting, including basic spreadsheet knowledge.
- Excellent interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills. Strong public speaking skills.
- Some evening and weekend hours required.
WORKING CONDITIONS
- This is primarily an on-site, in-person position. It is a combination of desk work as well as some physical labor involved setting up photo and video shoots.
- Travel would be required locally to attend events and on-site locations for shooting. Travel for conferences in the U.S. (budget dependent).
COMPENSATION
- This is a salaried exempt position, mid-high $50s to low-mid $60s depending on experience and skill; has an excellent package of benefits, including medical, dental, disability and life insurance; paid vacation, sick and parental leave; as well as complimentary and discount tickets.
HOURS PER WEEK
- 40 hours per week, flexibility to alter schedule for frequent evening and weekend work required.
LOCATION AND IN-OFFICE REQUIREMENTS
- This is primarily an on-site position with telework optional 1-2 days per week with Director of Marketing’s approval.
