Work to Protect Illinois’ Wetlands in Our Canvassing and Field Manager Positions
Our wetlands are special places, home to migrating birds, turtles and chorus frogs. They also keep our water clean, filtering out pollutants before they reach drinking water sources like Lake Michigan. Unfortunately only 10% of our wetlands remain, and those wetlands don’t have enough protection.
Environment Illinois is calling for comprehensive protections of all our wetlands. We’re hiring canvassers and field managers in our Chicago office to educate the public about this issue, raise critical funds, and generate the visibility necessary to influence local decision-makers.

Pay:
Canvassing staff earn a base pay of $17.50 per hour, plus can earn 20% of what they raise over our minimum fundraising standard, giving staff the opportunity to earn more than $20 per hour. Staff never earn less than minimum wage for the hours that they work. Depending on performance and location, canvassers earn an average of between $17.50 to $22 per hour.
