    Position Title: Volunteer Coordinator

    (RSVP & Volunteer Wyoming)

    Salary: $46,000 - $52,000

    Reports To: Executive Director

    Schedule: Full-time

    Position Summary

    The Volunteer Coordinator supports Serve Wyoming’s AmeriCorps Seniors RSVP (55+) and Volunteer Wyoming programs. The position recruits, places, supports, and recognizes volunteers; develops relationships with nonprofit and community partners; coordinates volunteer initiatives; and assists with program administration, federal grant compliance, reporting, outreach, and training.

    The Coordinator works under the direction of the Executive Director.

    Primary Responsibilities

    Volunteer & Community Engagement

    • Recruit, orient, place, and support RSVP and other community volunteers.
    • Identify community volunteer needs and connect volunteers with nonprofit and public agencies.
    • Develop and maintain strong relationships with volunteer stations, nonprofits, service organizations, businesses, and community partners.
    • Coordinate volunteer recruitment, Days of Service, volunteer trainings, emergency volunteer initiatives, and other statewide service activities.
    • Provide training, technical assistance, and resources related to effective volunteer management.
    • Promote opportunities for adults 55+ to remain active and engaged in their communities.
    • Coordinate volunteer recognition activities, including the annual RSVP recognition event and other awards.

    RSVP Program Administration & Compliance

    • Implement RSVP goals, work plans, and activities in accordance with AmeriCorps Seniors regulations and Serve Wyoming policies.
    • Assist with annual RSVP grant applications, continuation applications, reports, and other required federal submissions.
    • Track program outcomes, volunteer participation, service hours, and performance measures.
    • Maintain accurate volunteer, program, and grant records using required AmeriCorps systems and Serve Wyoming databases.
    • Maintain current Volunteer Station MOUs, position descriptions, annual safety/accessibility reviews, and required program documentation.
    • Provide Volunteer Stations with guidance regarding RSVP requirements, policies, procedures, and compliance.
    • Participate in required AmeriCorps Seniors trainings, conferences, office hours, workgroups, and program calls.
    • Work with leadership on program budgets, projections, grant requirements, and sustainability.

    Volunteer Wyoming

    • Support the statewide Volunteer Wyoming program and volunteer matching resources.
    • Assist with volunteer recruitment, outreach, volunteer management training, emergency volunteer coordination, and statewide service initiatives.
    • Collect and maintain volunteerism data, statistics, and program records.
    • Assist with newsletters, web content, outreach materials, volunteer guides, and other communications.
    • Build partnerships that expand volunteer opportunities for older adults, students, families, people with disabilities, and other Wyoming residents.
    • Research grant opportunities and assist with fundraising and sustainability efforts.

    Outreach & Communications

    • Represent Serve Wyoming at community meetings, presentations, trainings, conferences, and outreach events.
    • Promote RSVP, Volunteer Wyoming, AmeriCorps, and volunteerism throughout Wyoming.
    • Maintain regular communication with volunteers and community partners.
    • Assist with newsletters, public relations, marketing, and volunteer recognition efforts.

    Organizational Responsibilities

    • Participate as an active Serve Wyoming team member in agency programs, events, and sponsored activities.
    • Maintain accurate and timely records and meet established grant and organizational deadlines.
    • Travel statewide as necessary.
    • Assist with other Serve Wyoming programs and duties as assigned.

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
    • Ability to successfully complete required background checks.
    • Strong written, verbal, interpersonal, and public-speaking skills.
    • Excellent organization, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
    • Demonstrated ability to recruit, engage, and support volunteers.
    • Ability to develop productive relationships with people from diverse communities and organizations.
    • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, spreadsheets, databases, and online reporting systems.
    • Ability and willingness to travel throughout Wyoming.
    • Self-motivated and able to work independently while effectively receiving supervision and collaborating with a team.
    • Experience with program management, grants, volunteer management, or federally funded programs preferred.
    • Knowledge of AmeriCorps Seniors/RSVP requirements and federal grant compliance preferred.
    • Commitment to strengthening volunteerism and expanding meaningful service opportunities for Wyoming residents, particularly adults age 55+
