Sponsorship Director for Charity Bike Ride
Details
Description
We're hiring a Sponsorship Director for The 2027 Bay Ride
The Bay Ride is a 135 mile loop around the Bay, with a 35 mile option, that has sold out 12 years running. This year 1,000 riders came out. Every dollar riders pay goes into safer streets: clearing the Skyline shoulder by hand, pushing for bike lanes on Hesperian, and closing gaps in the Bay Trail. Sponsors have always been a small part of the picture, and we'd like 2027 to be the year that changes.
We're looking for someone to own that. You'd build the sponsor program from the ground up: decide what we can offer, price it, go find the businesses that fit, and close them. We have real inventory to work with. Six aid stations from Richmond to Pacifica, a start and finish in the Presidio, a jersey 1,000 people ride in, a finish line party, an email list of 1,600 and our social channels. Bike shops, breweries, outdoor brands, employers who want their teams on bikes, and the big Bay Area companies with community budgets are all fair game. We've partnered with Sports Basement, Bike East Bay, CalBike and Outward Bound in the past, so there is a base to build on.
Once a sponsor signs, we handle the fulfillment side: logos, signage, thank you posts. Your job is the relationships and the revenue.
Who tends to be great at this: someone who has sold sponsorships, done business development, or run partnerships for a nonprofit or an event, and who is comfortable asking for money on behalf of a cause they believe in. Being plugged into the Bay Area cycling scene helps a lot.
When: starting now and running through ride day. We're finalizing the 2027 date and will share it the moment we have it. Work whatever hours suit you.
Pay: this is a paid role, and the structure depends on what you bring to it. Tell us a bit about your background and what you'd need, and we'll work it out together.
Email us at info@livethebay.org with the subject "Sponsorship Director". No resume needed. Just tell us the first 3 companies you'd call.
