Horizons at Greene Street Friends School is seeking a dynamic and effective STEM Teacher to
join our team this summer. The qualified candidate will be experienced in providing hands-on
educational experiences to PreK to Grade 8 students that dive into a variety of STEAM
(Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Mathematics) concepts and offer student-led
activities and projects. Our mission is to enhance the student experience and foster an
environment of curiosity and exploration. All classes will be focused on STEAM education
themes. These will include, but are not limited to, engineering, biology, robotics, environmental,
and health sciences. From these highlighted topics, students will be given the chance to
illustrate their knowledge through week-long activities and projects. Successful candidates will
possess sound pedagogical skills, highly developed writing and organizational skills, experience
teaching art (preferred), a growth mindset, positive resolve, follow-through, and the desire to
build positive and meaningful relationships with students in a manner consistent with our
child-centered, integrated, and developmentally appropriate curriculum. A passion for diversity
and a multicultural approach to learning is essential. Candidates should have experience
working in a diverse setting and demonstrate a commitment to co-creating a racially just and
inclusive learning community.

This is a summer position taking place from June 22 – July 31, 2026. Program hours are Monday
through Friday, 7:45 am to 3:30 pm, but instructional hours will vary based on daily program schedule. There are two required orientation days in June, with final dates TBD. The program takes place on the campus of Greene Street Friends School in the Germantown neighborhood of Philadelphia.
