    Description

    Short-term Contract (approximately 3 weeks)

Remote | Fixed Fee: $1,500 CAD

AWE (Action for Women's Empowerment Global) is a small international NGO that has been supporting women entrepreneurs in Latin America, Africa, and Asia since 2010.

We're looking for someone to help us prepare for the next stage of our organization's growth by documenting key operational knowledge before a new Operations Manager joins the team.

This is a short-term project for someone who enjoys asking good questions, organizing information, and turning complex knowledge into clear, practical documentation.

    The Project

Working closely with the Executive Director, you will conduct a series of interviews and develop a concise set of operational reference guides covering areas such as fundraising, donor management, bookkeeping, volunteer management, event planning, and general operations. In a few areas, where workflows are not yet clearly defined, you'll help develop simple, practical approaches before documenting them.

The goal is not to create lengthy manuals or detailed SOPs. Instead, you'll produce practical reference guides that help a capable new Operations Manager understand how AWE works and get up to speed quickly.

The project also includes developing a one-page Annual Operations Calendar highlighting key recurring activities throughout the year.

    We're Looking For Someone Who:

      • Is an excellent listener and interviewer
      • Can organize information clearly and logically
      • Writes concise, practical documentation in plain English
      • Is comfortable working independently
      • Can quickly understand how a small organization operates
      • Has strong attention to detail and excellent follow-through

Experience in one or more of the following would be an asset:

      • Knowledge management
      • Operations or project management
      • Technical writing
      • Organizational development
      • Nonprofit management
      • Business analysis
      • Instructional design

Experience in international development is welcome but not required.
