Meals on Wheels of Takoma Park/Silver Spring
Meals on Wheels of Takoma Park/Silver Spring is seeking a part time Driver to support our daily meal delivery and food pickup operations. This role plays a key part in making sure meals and other food resources are safely and reliably transported throughout our service area.
This position is ideal for someone who is dependable, comfortable driving throughout the community, and enjoys being part of a hands on team serving others.
What You’ll Do
- Complete assigned meal delivery routes and food pickups
- Load and unload meals, food, and supplies
- Support daily meal packing and route preparation
- Pick up food from community partners, vendors, and other locations
- Maintain accurate delivery and pickup information
- Keep organization vehicles clean and ready for daily use
- Report vehicle maintenance needs, route delays, or delivery concerns
- Support kitchen and general program operations when needed
What We’re Looking For
- Valid driver's license and safe driving record
- Dependable and able to maintain a consistent weekday schedule
- Comfortable driving throughout Montgomery and Prince George's Counties
- Ability to safely lift and carry food boxes, coolers, and supplies
- Comfortable working independently and as part of a team
- Strong communication and customer service skills
- Delivery, transportation, food service, or nonprofit experience is helpful but not required

Position Details
Title: Driver
Location: Onsite in Takoma Park/Silver Spring
Schedule: Part time, Monday through Friday, 9:30 AM to 2:30 PM
Hours: 25 hours per week
Pay: $19.00 to $24.40 per hour

This role is an important part of making sure meals and other food resources reach the people and communities we serve each day.
- Paid vacation: Receive 35 hours in Years 1 to 3, increasing with tenure.
- Paid sick leave: Receive 60 hours per calendar year
- Paid holidays: Receive prorated holiday pay after 90 days.
