Vehicle Sales Coordinator
Asheville, NC | Full-time | In-person
Working Wheels believes that reliable transportation can change lives. Across Western North
Carolina, we help individuals and families access safe, dependable transportation so they can
get to work, school, medical appointments, and the opportunities that help them build stability
and independence.
Through our Vehicle Purchase Program and Vehicle Repair Program, we help people overcome
one of the biggest barriers to stability: access to reliable transportation. Whether it’s helping
someone purchase a vehicle or helping them keep their current one on the road, our work is
about making sure transportation does not stand in the way of opportunity.
We are seeking a Vehicle Sales Coordinator who is excited to be part of that impact.
This role sits at the intersection of mission and revenue. The Vehicle Sales Coordinator leads
our Vehicle Purchase Program that connects community members with affordable vehicles and
also helps generate revenue through vehicle sales to the public. The revenue from public sales
helps sustain our programs, allowing us to serve more people.
This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys working hard, staying organized, building
relationships, and knowing that their daily work directly supports people in our community.
What You’ll Do
Coordinate the Vehicle Purchase Program
● Guide participants from application through vehicle purchase
● Work closely with case managers and community partners throughout the process
● Help participants navigate the purchasing process with clarity and respect
● Ensure all paperwork and DMV requirements are completed accurately
● Maintain participant data and program records
Coordinate Public Vehicle Sales
● Price vehicles within established guidelines
● Create and manage vehicle listings
● Communicate with potential buyers and coordinate sales
● Complete all sales documentation and transactions
● Help generate revenue that sustains Working Wheels’ programs
Support Program Operations
● Assist with Vehicle Repair Program case coordination
● Work with shop staff on vehicle availability and warranty repairs
● Help keep program operations organized and running smoothly
What we’re looking for
This role works with two very different, yet equally important groups: community members
participating in our programs and members of the public purchasing vehicles.
Success in this role requires someone who can balance a strong work ethic and sales mindset
with empathy and patience.
Program participants may be navigating financial stress or life transitions, and this role helps
ensure they feel respected, informed, and supported throughout the process.
Because of this, we’re looking for someone who can:
● Facilitate vehicle sales and manage the details of each transaction
● Communicate clearly and professionally with potential buyers
● Work patiently and respectfully with program participants
● Balance a sales mindset with empathy and good judgment
● Take pride in work that helps generate revenue and support community impact
Experience in sales, customer service, case coordination, or nonprofit programs can all translate
well to this role.
Qualifications
● Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
● 3+ years of experience in operations, program coordination, customer service, or sales
● Strong organizational and communication skills
● Proficiency with Google Workspace and basic data systems
● Ability to work independently and part of a team
● Passion for our mission and dedication to equity and inclusion
● Valid NC driver’s license and safe driving record
