    Description

    The Opportunity: Culinary Careers Program (C•CAP), the national workforce development nonprofit, is looking to hire a New York-based Development & Executive Assistant. This is a full-time, benefits-eligible, hybrid position, reporting to the Chief Business Officer and Executive Director.

    About Us: Culinary Careers Program empowers under-resourced high school students & adults to become the next generation of leaders in food and hospitality through culinary arts education, job skills training, college scholarships, and career opportunities. To date, we have uplifted close to 400,000 students across the United States and awarded $78 million in college scholarships.

    About the Position: We are seeking a highly organized, personable, and detail-oriented Development and Executive Assistant to support our fundraising and executive functions. This role sits at the crossroads of development operations and executive support and often serves as the first point of contact for the many donors, board members, partners, and external stakeholders who reach out to our organization every day.

    Essential Functions:

    • Serving as a key team member on all of C·CAP’s fundraising and marketing projects, including our signature National Gala featuring the top chefs in New York, regional benefits in Houston, Los Angeles, Philadelphia, Scottsdale and Washington D.C., our food styling contest and other initiatives.
    • Owning the “gift processing” function including tracking all donor gifts in Salesforce and preparing and sending all donor acknowledgement letters.
    • Collaborating on development events by providing assistance to product and auction donation solicitation, guest list maintenance, benefit correspondence, coordinating deliveries and day of event support
    • Acting as the first point of contact for enquiries to C·CAP, monitor general email inbox, main phone line, voicemail
    • Working closely with the Development Manager on proposals and follow up for grants and sponsorships. Proactively researches potential donors, grants and corporate sponsors.
    • Preparing briefing materials for ED and CBO before important calls (history, context, ideas) with major donors and potential corporate sponsors.
    • Scheduling select internal/external meetings and managing the company-wide Zoom account calendar and Executive Committee meetings.
    • Supporting program team events including the NYC Awards Breakfast and spring culinary competition.

    Qualifications & Skills:

    • Associate’s Degree or Bachelor’s Degree required
    • Must have solid organizational and time management skills, strong attention to detail, excellent written and oral communication skills, a spirit of collaboration, and the ability to adapt to changing priorities.
    • Experience with Salesforce, Microsoft Office products, Google Workspace.
    • Knowledge of and interest in social media and the hospitality industry a big plus
    • Must live within a commuting distance to New York City. This is a hybrid position requiring at least two days per week on site in our new Downtown Manhattan office.
    • Comfortable with occasional work on evenings or weekends.
