    INTAKE COORDINATOR Dispute Resolution Center of Kitsap County | Silverdale, WA (Onsite)

    Reports to: Mediation Supervisor Schedule: 32–40 hours per week | Some evenings and occasional weekends required Compensation: Commensurate with experience $20-$25. FLSA Status: Non-Exempt

    The Dispute Resolution Center of Kitsap County is dedicated to strengthening relationships, families, and communities through mediation, facilitation, and conflict resolution training.     Position Overview

    The Intake Coordinator is a vital member of the DRC team, serving as the first point of contact for clients navigating what is often a stressful and emotionally charged experience. This role bridges client outreach and case management — gathering critical information, assessing client needs, and laying the groundwork for safe and effective mediation.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Conduct client intakes via phone and in person, including conflict assessments to ensure appropriate and safe mediation set-up
    • Provide clear and empathetic information to clients, case managers, and mediators regarding processes and case status
    • Manage referrals, case documentation, deadlines, invoicing, and payment collection
    • Schedule and coordinate mediation sessions
    • Maintain accurate records using case management software
    • Perform general office duties as assigned

    What We're Looking For

    Education

    • Bachelor's degree in a related field required (e.g., Social Work, Psychology, Communications, Conflict Resolution, Human Services, or a closely related discipline) OR equivalent experience.

    Required Experience & Skills

    • Strong customer service background with experience supporting individuals in high-stress or emotionally sensitive situations
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including a confident and professional phone presence
    • Proficiency with Microsoft 365 and comfort learning new technology platforms
    • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment
    • Ability to maintain strict confidentiality
    • Successful completion of a basic 40-hour mediation training (may be completed after hire per DRC policy)

    Preferred

    • Experience with video conferencing tools and case management software
    • Background in human services, social work, or a related field
    • Spanish language fluency
    • Experience working with individuals from diverse socioeconomic, cultural, and ethnic backgrounds
