    Description

Phinney Neighborhood Preschool Co-op is looking for an Afternoon Program Teacher beginning September 2026. Our Afternoon Program serves children ages 3–5 who spend their afternoons playing outside and in one of our classrooms. They enjoy games, art projects, reading books, and generally having a great time!

This is a great position for someone who enjoys working with young children but is not necessarily pursuing a formal teaching role - though you could be!

Are you a parent? Bring your child with you, free of charge, to play and socialize with the other kids.

    Schedule & Pay

    • Monday–Thursday, 12:15 PM – 4:15 PM
    • 4 hours additional prep/setup time
    • $26 per hour
    • Consistent weekly schedule; typical week totals 18 hours ($468/week)

    Responsibilities

    • Supervise and engage children ages 3–5 in free play and simple activities
    • Assist with snack time and clean-up
    • Help children transition between the outdoors and inside play time
    • Maintain a safe, calm, and positive environment
    • Greet parents and help facilitate a smooth, friendly pickup at the end of the day
    • Support general tidiness of the classroom and materials
    • Send emails to enrolled families with updates and information, as needed

    Qualifications

    • Experience caring for or working with young children (babysitting, nannying, camps, classrooms, etc.)
    • Warm, patient, and attentive demeanor
    • Ability to set gentle, consistent boundaries
    • Dependable and punctual
    • Comfortable working as part of a small team

Training and orientation provided. We are looking for someone who genuinely enjoys being around young children and will create a relaxed end-of-day atmosphere for our students.
