Position Type: Full-time (40 hours per week), Non-Exempt
Reports to: Executive Director and Development & Communications Manager
Salary: $30.58 per hour
About LYRIC
Founded in 1988, the Lavender Youth Recreation & Information Center (LYRIC) provides support and services to nearly 2,000 lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer, questioning (LGBTQQ+) and allied youth per year. LYRIC’s mission is to build community and inspire positive social change through education enhancement, career training, health promotion, and leadership development with LGBTQQ+ youth, their families, and allies of all races, classes, genders, and abilities.
The organization has an annual operating budget of approximately $5 million and a staff of 20+.
Focus Areas
The Development & Executive Operations Coordinator provides critical operational, administrative, and coordination support across LYRIC’s fundraising efforts and the Office of the Executive Director. Working closely with the Executive Director and Development & Communications Manager, the Coordinator helps ensure the smooth execution of fundraising activities, maintains strong donor systems, and supports effective organizational operations.
The Development & Executive Operations Coordinator: (1) supports the administration and implementation of LYRIC’s fundraising and donor engagement activities; (2) provides high-level administrative and operational support to the Executive Director; (3) assists with fundraising events, communications, and donor stewardship activities; and (4) helps strengthen internal systems, coordination, and organizational effectiveness across departments.
This position serves as a key connector between development operations, executive leadership, and organizational administration. The Coordinator helps streamline workflows, manage priorities, and strengthen communication systems that support LYRIC’s mission and impact.
Knowledge
Development Operations & Data Management
- Process and track charitable contributions, including gift entry, reconciliation, and record maintenance
- Maintain accurate donor and funder records within Raiser’s Edge or other donor management systems
- Generate reports, donor lists, and data analysis to support fundraising activities and strategic decision-making
- Support donor acknowledgement processes, ensuring timely and accurate recognition of contributions
- Assist with maintaining development systems, records, and operational procedures
- Support revenue tracking and fundraising performance reporting
Executive Support & Coordination
- Actively manage and coordinate the Executive Director’s calendar, scheduling, and meeting logistics to ensure alignment with organizational priorities
- Provide administrative support to the Executive Director, including expense reporting, document preparation, presentation formatting, and information management
- Support the Executive Director in managing workflows, deadlines, priorities, and follow-up activities
- Ensure the Executive Director is prepared for meetings, presentations, events, and external engagements
- Handle sensitive and confidential information with professionalism and discretion
- Coordinate internal meetings, committee meetings, and Board-related activities as assigned
- Prepare agendas, take meeting notes, track action items, and support follow-through across teams
- Maintain records of donor interactions, stewardship activities, and relationship management efforts on behalf of the Executive Director
- Serve as a liaison between departments and support effective communication and coordination across the organization
Donor Engagement & Outreach
- Support donor communications, including mailings, email campaigns, stewardship materials, and outreach activities
- Assist with donor cultivation and engagement efforts through administrative and logistical support
- Help coordinate community outreach activities and supporter engagement opportunities
- Represent LYRIC at community events, fundraising activities, and external gatherings as needed
- Support implementation of grassroots fundraising and donor engagement campaigns
Organizational Capacity Building & Collaboration
- Support trainings, meetings, and activities that build fundraising capacity among staff, youth leaders, and Board members
- Work collaboratively with program staff, youth leaders, consultants, and external partners
- Participate in organizational meetings, retreats, trainings, and cross-departmental initiatives
- Contribute to a workplace culture grounded in learning, leadership, allyship, social justice, and sustainable impact
Administrative & Event Support
- Provide logistical and administrative support for fundraising campaigns, donor cultivation events, and organizational activities
- Coordinate event materials, timelines, registration processes, communications, and follow-up activities
- Support consultant, vendor, and contractor coordination as assigned
- Assist with project tracking, scheduling, and implementation of development initiatives
- Perform other duties as assigned
Who You Are
- 1–3 years of verifiable experience in administrative support, operations, fundraising, event coordination, or a related field; equivalent combinations of education and experience will be considered
- Interest in nonprofit fundraising, donor engagement, communications, and organizational operations
- Experience with data entry, database management, scheduling, event coordination, and administrative support
- Experience using donor databases, CRM systems, or comparable data management platforms preferred
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with attention to detail and accuracy
- Excellent organizational, planning, and project management skills
- Ability to prioritize multiple projects and deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Strong computer proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, Google Workspace, and database systems
- Highly organized, detail-oriented, and dependable
- Positive, flexible, proactive, and solutions-oriented
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to build collaborative working relationships

- Knowledge of youth issues, particularly those affecting LGBTQQ+ youth
- Commitment to youth development, social justice, equity, inclusion, and anti-oppression principles and practices
- Experience and competencies working in multiracial, multicultural, and intergenerational environments
- Ability to interact with colleagues, youth participants, donors, Board members, and community stakeholders in a professional and effective manner
- Some evenings and weekends are required and will be scheduled in advance
