Description
Position Overview
The Human Resources Manager is responsible for the oversight of the day-to-day HR functions, including recruitment, onboarding, benefits administration, performance management, employee relations, policy development, recordkeeping, employee training and staff events.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee employee onboarding, training and development, performance management, and performance evaluation processes.
- Establish new HR processes and streamline existing systems to improve efficiency, consistency, and staff experience.
- Review, manage, and maintain accurate job descriptions for all positions across the organization.
- Manage employment-related inquiries from applicants, employees, and supervisors, escalating complex or sensitive matters as appropriate.
- Support the development and implementation of policies, practices, and systems that promote diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging across the organization.
- Provide coaching, guidance, and mediation support to employees and supervisors on matters related to roles, responsibilities, workplace expectations, performance, and professional development.
- Lead the distribution, communication, and implementation of organizational policies through the Employee Handbook, policy documents, staff communications, and employee training.
- Maintain compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations; recommend best practices and review policies and procedures to ensure ongoing compliance.
- Support benefits administration and benefits negotiation, including reviewing plan options, coordinating with vendors, and helping ensure employees understand available benefits.
- Develop long-term HR strategies and key initiatives that support employee success, organizational effectiveness, staff retention, and a positive workplace culture.
