    Description

    Art Impact Project is seeking a full-time Executive Director (ED) with a deep understanding and experience in non-profit management and operations. As an official representative of the organization, the ED role demands a visionary leader with effective communication skills who can inspire staff, volunteers, and donors alike to support the organization’s mission and work collaboratively to achieve its goals. The ED reports directly to the President of Board of Directors. The job is based in Lake County Illinois, attending in-office with a partial remote option available after onboarding period.     Responsibilities & Duties

    Strategic Planning & Management

    • Develop and implement strategic growth plans in collaboration with Board of Directors.
    • Oversee daily operations of the organization and ensure compliance with legal, regulatory, and ethical standards.
    • Maintain and develop Programming Partner agreements.

    Financial Stewardship

    • Prepare, track and report a budget, aligning fundraising goals to operating budget.
    • Develop, maintain and execute a comprehensive Funding Plan, including grant opportunity research, writing and tracking; fundraising efforts such as event management and donor appeal campaigns.
    • Conduct daily bookkeeping tasks.
    • Maintain calendars for fundraising, events and grants.

    Mission Communications/External Advocacy

    • Be the face of the agency to the Lake County Not-For-Profit community.
    • Engage in community outreach and brand-building opportunities.
    • Develop and foster relationships with Program Partners, sponsors and donors.
    • Interface with the public and community stakeholders via media relations and social channels.
    • Oversee content development of website, social media and newsletters.

    Internal Relations: Lead and motivate staff, volunteers, and board members

    • With staff: Oversee and support Manager of Programming to ensure programming effectiveness and implementation are in alliance with our mission.
    • With Board of Directors: provide concise, timely reports, plans and financials as requested; attend all Board meetings; provide monthly ED report.

    Qualifications and Skills

    • Strategic Planning: Measurable non-profit experience in designing and developing short- and long-term plans closely aligned to mission and operational budget.
    • Fundraising: Excellent donor relationship skills and proven track record of successful fundraising efforts and grant writing experience.
    • Leadership: Strong organizational leadership style, inspirational, embraces and elevates diverse people and their communities, oriented to a growth culture.
    • Collaboration: Ability to respect and absorb varying perspectives and employ multiple resources to achieve objectives; Ability to build and lead diverse teams and committees as necessary.
    • Financial Savvy: Measurable success in effective financial oversight, recording, reporting, budgeting and forecasting.
    • Exceptional Communications: Verbal and written expertise using authentic, concise and transparent language to inform mission-driven decision making in all aspects.
    • Competent with Technology: Proficient with MS Office 365, experience with QuickBooks, customer relations management (CRM) applications and donor management software.

    Other Duties

    • Become familiar with program delivery model and be able to facilitate as needed as back-up to Manager of Programming.

    Educational and Other Requirements

    • Bachelor’s degree, preferably in non-profit management, business, social work, human services, or education.
    • Substantial previous experience in non-profit leadership roles and network within non-profit community.
    • Valid driver’s license, use of a personal vehicle.
    • Ability to lift 25 pounds.
