    LOCATIONS: Office: Philadelphia, PA (hybrid/remote – some onsite work required); Warehouse: Swedesboro, NJ (some onsite work required)

    ORGANIZATION

    The Mid-Atlantic Regional Cooperative (MARC), based in Philadelphia, acquires and distributes fresh produce and other grocery items to its Feeding America member food banks in the Mid-Atlantic and Northeast. The cooperative's mission is to help its member food banks fight hunger in their communities by supplying foods high in quality, variety, nutrition, and value. The MARC operates under Feeding Pennsylvania, a Pennsylvania-based 501(c)3 nonprofit.

    JOB SUMMARY

    The Logistics Coordinator has the primary role of facilitating the movement of MARC shipments between our vendors, warehouse, and member food banks. Under the direction of the managerial staff at the MARC, this position will be responsible for vetting and assigning carriers that ensure the highest order of customer service and reliability. The Logistics Coordinator will consistently be tasked with receiving, organizing, and communicating a high volume of information between all parties involved with the MARC’s operations. The timeliness and accuracy of this work is pivotal to the success of the MARC, its member food banks, and the communities that we serve.

    The ideal candidate will possess strong communication skills, a sense of urgency, and a high level of organization. By embodying MARC’s commitment to alleviating hunger, the work of the Logistics Coordinator contributes significantly to the operational success of MARC and the vital work of its member food banks.

    ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

    • This is a hybrid position and offers some remote work. The position requires employees to work from the office and/or warehouse locations 3 days per week or as determined by the MARC’s management.
    • Arrange inbound and outbound transportation for all shipments of MARC product.
    • Coordinate pickup and delivery appointments between assigned carriers, vendors, the MARC warehouse, and its member food banks.
    • Generate, distribute, and update transportation schedules for the MARC team, its warehousing partner, and assigned carriers.
    • Maintain consistent and clear communications between carriers, vendors, the MARC warehouse, and food banks regarding all timelines and updates associated with shipments.
    • Maintain accurate records of transportation costs, paperwork, and scheduling details in the MARC’s shared database.
    • Provide a high level of customer service to member food banks on logistical matters.
    • Monitor carrier performance and rates to best align with the preferences and budgetary parameters of the MARC’s member food banks.
    • Assist with billing, reporting, and database management as needed.
    • All other duties as assigned.

    MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

    Education, Experience, and Training

    • High School Diploma or GED is required; an associate’s degree in business, retail management, food distribution or a related field is preferred.
    • 1+ years of experience working in a transportation or produce environment strongly preferred
    • 1+ years coordinating logistics strongly preferred.

    Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

    • Excellent written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills; ability to understand and organize detailed, time‑sensitive information.
    • Ability to convey complex information clearly.
    • Strong mathematical, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
    • Customer-focused approach to providing services.
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel, and familiarity with NetSuite or similar ERP systems.
    • Proven ability to manage multiple priorities under tight deadlines with attention to detail.
    • Knowledge of the produce industry, logistics, or food distribution is highly preferred.

    COMPENSATION:

    Pay Range: $50,000.00 - $55,000.00 per year
