    Peninsula Family Service is a nonprofit organization that provides children, families, and older adults with the support and tools they need to realize their full potential. As one of the largest providers of infant, toddler, and preschool programs in the region, PFS also delivers services in financial empowerment, employment, and older adult support. Established in 1950, PFS has been a trusted community partner for over 75 years, dedicated to fostering stability, resilience, and well-being for the individuals and families it serves.

    Position Overview

    PFS is seeking a Bay Area-based contract video producer and editor to create compelling short- and long-form video content for donor engagement, fundraising campaigns, social media, events, website storytelling, and organizational branding.

    The ideal candidate is a strong visual storyteller who can work with existing footage and b-roll while also helping capture new content in the field to help expand our storytelling efforts and grow our video content library. This role requires someone comfortable working in nonprofit and community settings with a collaborative, flexible approach.

    Responsibilities

    • Edit compelling short-form and long-form videos for social media, donor communications, fundraising campaigns, events, and website content
    • Organize and maximize use of existing b-roll and archival footage
    • Help build and maintain a growing library of video assets
    • Capture video footage at organizational events, programs, and community activities as needed
    • Create social-first content including reels, short clips, testimonials, and campaign videos
    • Collaborate with marketing and communications staff on storytelling concepts and creative direction
    • Add music, graphics, captions, motion elements, and branding where appropriate
    • Ensure content aligns with PFS brand voice and mission
    • Support rapid-turnaround editing projects when needed

    Qualifications

    • Proven experience producing and editing video content for nonprofits, mission-driven organizations, brands, or media outlets
    • Strong portfolio demonstrating storytelling, editing, pacing, and emotional impact
    • Proficiency in Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro, DaVinci Resolve, or similar editing platforms
    • Experience editing short-form social media content
    • Ability to work independently and collaboratively
    • Strong organizational and communication skills
    • Bay Area based required
    • Ability to occasionally travel to PFS sites and events throughout San Mateo County

    Preferred Experience

    • Experience working with nonprofits, education organizations, or community service agencies
    • Familiarity with donor storytelling and fundraising campaigns
    • Experience filming interviews, testimonials, and event footage
    • Drone, motion graphics, or animation skills are a plus
    • Photography skills are a bonus

    Engagement Details

    • Contract / freelance position
    • Flexible hours based on project needs
