As the network’s largest partner, AFS-USA works to increase the global competency of U.S. citizens by providing a variety of international and intercultural learning experiences to individuals, families, schools, and communities. We are proud of our staff from our national office in New York City as well as home offices across the county, who collaborate with our more than 2,000 AFS-USA Volunteers to deliver high quality programs and global education resources. These include immersion-based study abroad experiences in over 40 countries worldwide; opportunities to host foreign AFS exchange students; and global learning workshops and curricula for educators, schools and businesses.

Are you passionate about global education and cultural exchange? AFS-USA is seeking a dedicated Field Specialist to join our remote Field Team. You will work with staff and volunteers to achieve hosting goals and ensure compliance with regulations.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Lead strategic planning and execution for hosting and volunteer development
• Ensure timely, compliant placements for international exchange students.
• Provide coaching, support, and problem-solving guidance to volunteers.
• Lead and integrate volunteers in hosting processes.
• Support the Hosting Onboarding Unit.
• Manage hosting functions in volunteer teams.
• Serve as on-call Duty Officer on a rotating schedule for emergencies and urgent matters

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Bachelor’s Degree or 3+ years of relevant experience.
• Excellent communication and conflict resolution skills.
• Strong organizational skills and self-motivation.
• Experience with CRM and social media for business.

WORK EXPECTATIONS:

• AFS USA work hours are generally from 9:00 am – 5:00 pm, Monday through Friday MST/PST.

SALARY:

• $50,000/Annually plus benefits including: medical, dental, vision, and PTO
