    Description

    Teatro Dignidad is a bilingual theatre company in Tucson, Arizona that produces plays about human rights and uplifts the voices of immigrant communities at the Southern Border. We aspire to present theatrical art and storytelling that centers and is accessible to marginalized communities; educating, uplifting, and honoring human dignity.

    Position Overview:

    Teatro Dignidad is looking for a Contract Grant Writer with a minimum of 2-4 years of recent experience in grant funding research, writing, and submitting successful theatre grant proposals.

    Duties and Responsibilities:

    • Works with internal team to identify funding needs
    • Research and identify grant funding opportunities
    • Generate LOIs and proposals for current and prospective funders as per deadlines
      • Preapare grant budgets and expense reports that are intuitive and easy to understand
    • Maintain records and submit reports related to grant opportunities
    • Develop, foster and maximize relationships with institutional and private funders
      • Maintain a database of grants, including deadlines and reporting requirements
      • Monitor and track the progress of funded grants
    • Completes grant reports as needed
      • Work with Artistic Director and Accountant to ensure that financial reports are accurate and reflective of submitted grant budgets
      • Assists in developing bi-annual fundraiser letter/ email campaign
      • Generate Thank You Letter and press release pertaining to grants received and donations
    • Meets with Artistic Director and Associate Artistic Director once week to report on progress

    Qualifications:

    • 2-4 years experience in granting writing for theatre and/or arts organizations with a proven record of successful grant writing
    • Ability to prioritize and meet deadlines
    • Additional fundraising experience for the arts and an interest in assisting in other development activities is a plus!
      • Ability to communicate in writing and verbally, in a clear, concise, well-organized manner.
      • Demonstrated proficiency in the use of MS Office - Outlook, Excel, Word, and grant databases.
      • Motivated self-starter with the ability to work collaboratively and independently
