    Description

    Role Overview: The Executive Director (ED) is a pivotal leadership position responsible for the overall strategic and operational management of Heart to Heart Global Cardiac Care. At Heart to Heart, our mission is to develop self-sustaining medical programs in areas of need, measurably expanding access to life-saving cardiac care. The ED reports to the Board of Directors and is responsible for the organization’s consistent achievement of its mission and financial objectives.

    Responsibilities:

    Leadership & Management:

    • Mission: Ensure the organization has a long-range strategy to achieve its mission toward which it makes consistent and timely progress.
    • Program Excellence: Ensure the consistent quality of programs, rigorous program evaluation, and effective administration.
    • Engagement: Actively engage volunteers, board members, committees, partnering organizations, and funders with the organization’s mission.
    • Board Development: Develop and support a strong Board of Directors, collaborating on strategic direction for the organization while providing leadership in finance, fundraising and program development. Ensure the Board is kept informed about the condition of the organization and all key factors influencing it.
    • Financial Oversight: Responsible for maintaining sound financial practices and working closely with the Finance Committee and the Board in preparing an annual budget and ensuring the organization operates within budget guidelines.
    • Team Leadership: Lead, coach, develop, and retain a high-performance management team while maintaining knowledge of significant developments and trends in the field.
      • Responsible for the recruitment, employment and release of all personnel, both paid staff and volunteers
      • Ensure regular performance evaluations and maintain updated job descriptions
    • Scaling Progress: Implement systems to track scaling progress and evaluate program components effectively.

    Fundraising & Communications:

    • Revenue Generation: Expand current revenue-generating activities to support existing programs and growth.
    • Brand Building: Enhance communications, including web presence and external relations, to strengthen the organization's brand.
    • Opportunity Seeking: Leverage external relationships to identify new fundraising opportunities.
    • Stewardship: Cultivate and engage new and existing donors and supporters with regular communications about the organization’s progress and programs.

    Planning & Scaling:

    • Growth Expansion: In collaboration with the board, develop and execute a strategic plan for program expansion into regions.
    • Partnerships: Build partnerships in existing and new regions, engaging funders, governmental leaders, and community stakeholders.
    • Local & National Presence: Regularly publish and communicate program results, showcasing current success as a model for replication.

    Qualifications:

    • Minimum Bachelor's Degree required
    • Proven leadership experience in the nonprofit sector
    • Strong strategic thinking, program management and staff management skills
    • Excellent communication and relationship-building abilities
    • Passion for the organization's mission and commitment to community impact
    • Spanish-speaking competence as well as excellent writing and speaking skills in English.
    • Mid-level and Major Donor fundraising experience
