    Position Summary

This part-time role is the bridge between day-to-day bookkeeping and the reporting needs of our CEO and Board. We need a self-directed management accountant ready to hit the ground running with hands-on experience in budgeting, forecasting, management reporting, cash flow management, and project accounting.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Monthly Accounts Preparation: Convert bookkeeping records into monthly management accounts (P&L, balance sheet, variance commentary).
    • Cash Flow Management: Prepare and maintain rolling cashflow forecasts.
    • Project Accounting: Build and update project-level accounting models — budget vs. actual, burn rate, and remaining runway per project.
    • Financial Forecasting: Produce short-term and medium-term financial forecasts to support CEO and board decision-making.
    • Risk Management: Flag financial risks, anomalies, or funding gaps proactively.
    • Bookkeeping Liaison: Liaise with the bookkeeper to clarify transactions or request missing information.
    • Board Pack Generation: Prepare a concise summary pack for the CEO/board each cycle (dashboard-style, not raw ledgers).
    • Audit & Year-End Support: Support year-end accounts preparation and external audit/review processes where relevant.
    • Multi-Entity Consolidation: Handle basic US/Netherlands cross-currency and multi-entity consolidation considerations.

    Minimum Qualifications (Must Haves)

    • Accounting Credential: Qualified accountant (ACCA / CIMA / AAT / CMA / CPA or equivalent) or equivalent management accounting experience.
    • Core Technical Competencies: Proven hands-on experience in Budgeting & Forecasting, Management Reporting, Cash Flow Management, and Project Accounting.
    • Data Autonomy: Comfortable working independently from raw bookkeeping data without heavy oversight.
    • Cross-Border Reporting: Familiarity with US and Netherlands accounting/reporting norms (or willingness to get up to speed quickly).
    • Systems Proficiency: Strong Excel/spreadsheet modeling skills; experience with accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks).
    • Self-Directed: Able to work a few days a month with minimal onboarding time from the CEO and Bookkeeping team.

    Preferred Qualifications (A Plus)

    • Non-profit accounting experience.
    • Grant funding / grant reporting / grant accounting experience.

    Job Details & Working Arrangement

    • Job Type: Part-Time
    • Time Commitment: Approximately 3–4 days per month (~24–32 hours/month)
    • Location: Remote (Candidates in US or Netherlands preferred)
    • Work Arrangement: Asynchronous-friendly
    • Reporting Structure: Reports to CEO
    • Monthly Workflow: Bookkeeper's records finalized → Management accountant converts to reporting pack → Short check-in with CEO. Ad hoc availability for forecasting/budget seasons or board meeting preparation.
