    About the role:

    The core objective of this role is to design, develop, and execute a scalable implementation plan for the sustainable enhancement of non-farm livelihoods in both urban and rural India. This project contributes to a large-scale 21st Century Skills Initiative aimed at empowering communities economically.

    Key Responsibilities:

    The Project Lead will be responsible for translating the strategic vision for livelihood enhancement into practical, high-impact field delivery.

    1. Program Strategy and Design:
    • Implementation Plan: Design and develop a comprehensive plan for achieving sustainable enhancement of non-farm livelihoods across the target geographies (urban and rural India).
    • Best Practice Identification: Identify and analyze existing best practices within the livelihood and skilling sector across different states and develop strategies for replication and scaling-up successful models.
    • Program Development: Conceptualize and develop programs focused on entrepreneurship development and the establishment of scalable micro-enterprises within the non-farm sector.
    1. Ecosystem Partnership and Stakeholder Management
    • External Engagement: Drive active engagement and build strong collaborative relationships with key external stakeholders, including government bodies, educational institutions, vocational training institutes, and peer organizations.
    • Internal Alignment: Work closely with internal teams across various functions (e.g., finance, technology, research) to ensure the project goals are aligned and effectively supported.
    • Resource Mobilization: Identify potential partners and sources for resource mobilization and funding to support the scaling of the livelihood programs.
    1. Monitoring, Evaluation, and Research
    • Data-Driven Decisions: Conduct necessary research and feasibility studies to inform program design, location selection, and partner identification.
    • Tracking and Reporting: Establish robust monitoring mechanisms to track project progress against key performance indicators (KPIs) and report transparently to leadership and partners.
    • Knowledge Management: Document the project journey, key learnings, and outcomes to contribute to the organization's knowledge base and inform future policy advocacy.

    Experience and Education (Must Haves):

    • Total Experience: Minimum of 12 years of professional experience in the development sector.
    • Sector Experience: Demonstrated experience of working on livelihood promotion, enterprise development, and skill development is essential.
    • Education: Minimum of a four-year college education in relevant fields such as Social Sciences, Development Studies, Social Work, or Management.
