During 2026-2028 our ASMS work will focus on 1) strengthening the engagement of our membership through structured learning and discussion spaces; and 2) supporting progressive social justice movements - including those outside of our thematic focus areas.

This is a full-time position and may require some work-related travel within and outside the region.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Coordinating and facilitating in-depth interviews with member organisations to understand their histories, priorities and challenges.
    • Researching and analysing the work of our member organisations to identify trends across our membership in respect of their advocacy priorities, strategies for change and challenges they are facing.
    • Producing visual materials to showcase the work of our member organisations and to commemorate international human rights days throughout the year.
    • Supporting the organisation of online learning circles and conversations between members, including identifying relevant topics for discussion, facilitating the online meetings and note-taking.
    • Support the creation of an online library of “lived experience expertise,” including providing written summaries of research publications, and working with an IT consultant to upload and categorise publications to the library.
    • Represent GAATW in relevant forums, consultations, and advocacy spaces.
    • Participate in monitoring and evaluation activities to assess the effectiveness and impact of ASMS activities.
    • Perform other duties as required by the International Coordinator or Thematic Programme Leads.

    Qualifications and Experience

    • Degree in social sciences, political and/or international affairs (i.e. international development studies, gender/women's studies, human rights, migration), development or related technical field.
    • Demonstrated experience in providing logistical support for online meetings and an ability to work with colleagues across timezones and in different geographical contexts.
    • Good conceptual understanding of human trafficking, migration and women's rights.
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
    • Ability to work as part of a team as well as independently.
    • Commitment to GAATW's mission and values.
