    About Civic Joy Fund

The Civic Joy Fund brings joy to the streets. We organize and invest in projects that bring art, music, and community to neighborhoods throughout San Francisco. Through initiatives like Downtown First Thursdays, neighborhood night markets, weekly clean-ups, and public art installations, we partner with artists, small businesses, volunteers, and community leaders to make San Francisco's public spaces more vibrant, resilient, and joyful. Civic Joy Fund operates as a program of the Civic Space Foundation.

    Position Summary

The role reports to the Executive Director.

    • Assist with fundraising events (First Thursdays partner activations, donor gatherings, night markets) including logistics, guest lists, and on-site support
    • Generate donor reports, giving summaries, and dashboards for leadership and board meetings
    • Research prospective donors, corporate partners, and foundation funders
    • Support the development calendar, ensuring appeals, renewals, and reporting deadlines stay on track

    Qualifications

    • 1–3 years of experience in development, fundraising, or a related nonprofit role (internship experience considered)
    • Strong written communication skills and close attention to detail
    • Comfort with donor databases/CRMs (e.g., Salesforce, Bloomerang, DonorPerfect) and Google Workspace or Microsoft Office
    • Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple deadlines and shifting priorities
    • A collaborative, service-oriented approach and genuine enthusiasm for Civic Joy Fund's mission
    • Availability for occasional evening or weekend hours to support events
