    Description

    The American Battlefield Trust, the nation’s premier historic land preservation nonprofit, seeks an administrative professional with an interest in land preservation, transaction records organization, and data management. The Land Preservation Assistant will be responsible for administrative support for the Land Preservation Department.

    Major Duties and Responsibilities

    • Filing, scanning, organizing, researching, and reconciling digital and physical land transaction files
    • Maintaining up-to-date and accurate records for complex real estate transactions
    • Managing and updating transactional data in the Land Preservation data management database (Landscape)
    • Coordinating data requests and departmental review of materials
    • Coordinating and handling billing for vendors performing due diligence for land preservation projects and maintenance for land stewardship
    • Managing the departmental calendar, including scheduling meetings and drafting agendas
    • Writing and compiling internal and external department communications regarding land preservation efforts, such as presentations or newsletters
    • Supporting land stewardship efforts, including income and expense tracking by property, property and sales tax exemption requests, and other administrative duties

    The Land Preservation Assistant will be expected to manage additional tasks, as required for real estate transactions, land stewardship, fundraising, events, and partner outreach. The Land Preservation Assistant may also provide support to the Land Preservation Grants and Project Managers, as needed.

    Required Knowledge, Skills and Experience

    • B.A./B.S. degree is required
    • At least two (2) years of experience in office administrative support, data management, real estate transactions, or related work is preferred
    • Ability to establish excellent working relationships, be detail-oriented, have superior organization, data management and presentation skills
    • Experience working with Adobe Acrobat and the Microsoft Office Suite
    • Willingness to work a hybrid remote/in-person schedule
    • Interest in the preservation of American historic battlefield sites
    • Real estate transaction, land preservation, and/or database experience is a plus
