The UNM Foundation seeks a strategic and results-oriented Director of Development for Corporate and Foundation Relations to support and grow philanthropic partnerships across the University’s research enterprise, centers, institutes, and interdisciplinary initiatives.

    This role is ideal for an experienced fundraiser who brings a strong track record in corporate and foundation engagement, along with the ability to navigate complex organizations and translate institutional priorities into compelling funding opportunities. The Director will operate both independently and in partnership with university leadership, faculty, and internal stakeholders to design and execute fundraising strategies that secure significant private-sector support.

    The successful candidate will be a proactive relationship builder, skilled communicator, and strategic thinker who thrives in a dynamic, multi-unit environment and is motivated by advancing impactful research and innovation.

    What We Require:

    The Director of Development for Corporate and Foundation Relations is responsible for identifying, cultivating, soliciting, and stewarding corporate and foundation donors while managing a dynamic portfolio of prospects. This role will lead and support strategic fundraising initiatives, develop competitive proposals, and collaborate across the institution to align donor interests with university priorities.

    The minimum education and experience required:

    • Baccalaureate degree
    • At least 3 years of successful fundraising and development experience, preferably in higher education.

    Compensation Salary Range:

    The expected salary for this position is $80,000 - $85,000. This range is an estimate, and the final salary will be determined based on the selected candidate’s experience and qualifications, consideration of any approved geographic salary differential, and alignment with internal equity guidelines to ensure consistency across similar roles.

    Business Hours:

    • Monday through Friday
    • Operating Hours from 8:00am – 5pm (MST)
    • Weekend availability for some positions
