    The Lymphoma Research Foundation seeks a Manager, Event Fundraising, to join its Development Department. This position will report to the Director of Event Fundraising and work with development staff in the National Headquarters located in New York City and volunteers across the country. The primary responsibility of this position is to generate charitable gift revenue for the Foundation through leadership and execution of fundraising events in target markets and leading the Foundation’s endurance program.

    The Lymphoma Research Foundation is dedicated to finding a cure for lymphoma, the most common form of blood cancer, by funding biomedical research and supporting the next generation of lymphoma researchers. With the guidance of the Foundation’s prestigious Scientific Advisory Board (SAB), which is comprised of 45 of the world’s leading lymphoma experts, the Foundation invests in research and scientists which have the greatest potential to improve our understanding of lymphomas and lead to improved treatment options for patients. To date, the Foundation has funded more than $80 million in lymphoma-specific research.

    Through comprehensive disease guides and publications, in-person conferences, and online resources, the Foundation provides education for people with lymphoma, as well as their loved ones and caregivers. A robust suite of the Foundation patient services provides direct support to people who have received a lymphoma diagnosis. These services include the national Lymphoma Helpline, a Clinical Trials Information Service, Lymphoma Support Network, and patient aid grant program. An industry leader in digital communications, the Foundation maintains a strong presence on multiple social media platforms and has won national awards for its innovative use of social media to educate cancer patients. The Foundation also provides continuing medical education programs designed to increase the knowledge, skills and performance of healthcare professionals who treat and care for people with lymphoma.

    About the Opportunity

    The ideal candidate will be organized and entrepreneurial, with the ability to take initiative, work autonomously, and act with accountability.     The salary range for this position is $60,000-$75,000 annually.

    Primary Responsibilities

    • Responsible for achieving budgeted revenue goals across event fundraising in target markets.
    • Responsible for recruitment and fundraising oversight of endurance and active lifestyle fundraising campaigns.
    • Responsible for managing all aspects of existing events, including oversight of recruitment, fundraising, planning, and execution of target market events.
    • Develop comprehensive donor/participant engagement strategy, including communication plan to engage, coach and steward all participants in achieving their fundraising goals.
    • Under the direction of CPO and Director of Event Fundraising, leverage data, trends and participant behaviors to identify business opportunities for growth and program optimization. Achieve participation, retention, and fundraising goals by continuously evaluating various metrics and KPIs.
    • Manage a portfolio of corporate, patient and community teams with responsibility for raising budgeted revenue for endurance, ticketed, and peer-to-peer events; manage recruitment, fundraising and stewardship of all portfolio participants; maintain year-round relationships with key constituents and volunteers.
    • Responsible for identifying and building a pipeline of corporate partners, with an emphasis on non-pharm or biotech industry prospects. Responsible for soliciting and stewarding corporate partners, including oversight of any and all program or event-related sponsorship benefits.
    • Partner with Marketing and Communications leadership to increase awareness and visibility of fitness-based fundraising portfolio in target markets.

    Skills and Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s degree and at least five years of peer-to-peer fundraising or directly related experience.
    • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
    • Confident, goal-oriented, strategic self-starter able to work independently and collaboratively across internal and external partners.
    • Excellent interpersonal skills, with experience collaborating with multiple teams and colleagues.
    • Wllingness and ability to travel nationally up to 20–30% and work evenings and weekends in support of development events.
    • Proficiency in MS Office suite, especially Word, Excel and PowerPoint. Experience with Adobe Suite, Word Press, Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter.
    • Experience with Classy, HubSpot, and Raiser’s Edge.
    • Must possess a valid driver’s license.
    • Must be able to lift up to 30lbs.
