Position: Education & Engagement Coordinator
Department: Education & Engagement
Reports to: Director of Education & Engagement
FLSA Classification: Part-Time, Hourly
Salary Range: $25/hour for approximately 20 hours/week on average, overtime eligible
after 40 hours within a work week.
Work Location: Downtown Seattle. The 5th Avenue Theatre Company administrative office
is located within Skinner Building (1326 5th Avenue, Suite 735). This position requires
onsite engagement.
Position Summary:
The Education & Engagement Coordinator supports the operations, data collection, and
overall logistics for the Education & Engagement team. This position will serve as a
collaborator in scheduling, planning, and coordination of all aspects of programming and
work to help streamline processes and communications, ensuring a positive experience
for collaborators, students, parents/guardians, and other key participants. This position
requires some evening, weekend, and special events work.
Key Duties & Responsibilities
Department Administration & Operations
Enter and maintain data for all programming in tracking spreadsheets and software
programs such as Tessitura.
Manage and maintain shared email accounts and phone calls, ensuring prompt
communication and excellent customer service.
Compile and maintain copy and communications as needed for both internal and
external assets.
Manage and track deadlines, maintain schedules, and update calendars as needed.
Provide support for event registration and other aspects of customer service for
families, students, teachers, and other patrons.
Engage in the equity, anti-racism, inclusion, and accessibility values of the organization and support The 5th's efforts to foster fully inclusive programming.
Intentionally support liaison work across teams to champion a holistic,
organization-wide vision of engagement, aligning efforts across promotional,
fundraising, and educational goals.
Programming & Events Activation
Serve as a key on-site staff member for designated programs, supporting setup,
hospitality, breakdown, supply logistics, guest artist/teaching artist needs, and
patron/participant registration/check-in.
Collaborate on day-of event strategy with the Education & Engagement team for
staffing plans, schedules, and event flow to ensure a seamless and positive
participant experience.
Represent The 5th at occasional public tabling events, community gatherings or
events, and other off-site activities to build meaningful relationships and foster inperson
connections.
Cultivate a deep appreciation for musical theater, performing arts education, and
community-centered engagement across all program touchpoints.
Qualifications:
Strong interpersonal communication skills
Strong organizational skills
Ability to work independently and proactively, taking initiative and managing
deadlines
Experience working with Microsoft Office Suite, Asana, and/or Tessitura a plus
Occasional weekend and evening availability (required)
The 5th Avenue Theatre is a fast-paced, collaborative workplace. Staff may be required to

Physical Requirements
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an
employee to successfully perform the essential functions of the job, with or without

Ability to perform administrative tasks using a computer, such as creating and
reviewing documents, entering data, and communicating electronically. This may
involve sitting at a workstation for extended periods and can be done using a
keyboard, mouse, or assistive technology.
Ability to communicate in person with colleagues across a multi-level facility
(including offices, theater, and workshop spaces). This may involve moving between
spaces with varied lighting and sound, or asking others to come to a central office
location as needed.
Ability to travel to and be present at on- and off-site special events in varied spaces,
some of which may be potentially non-ADA-compliant.
Ability to transport materials, set up and breakdown events with or without support.
This job does not require a vehicle, but it may be helpful for off-site needs.
