SUMMARY OF POSITION
Amirah, Inc is a trauma-informed faith-driven nonprofit serving women who have experienced sex trafficking and commercial sexual exploitation.
The Associate Director is a strategic, high-impact leader who serves as the second-in-command to the Executive Director. This role bridges the gap between vision and execution, overseeing daily operations, optimizing programmatic impact, and managing a dedicated team of care professionals. The ideal candidate is a seasoned leader with a deep, active faith, an operations mindset, and a profound commitment to trauma-informed care. You will ensure our programming operates with structural excellence, financial stewardship, and spiritual integrity. The Associate Director models Gospel-living and excellence in service provision from a trauma-informed faith lens. While Amirah operates as a Christian organization, it does not require a profession of faith or participation in any faith activities from any of its clients, volunteers, or interns and is respectful of all faith backgrounds.

Key Responsibilities:
Operational & Organizational Leadership
- Daily Operations: Manage the day-to-day administrative, human resources, and operational functions of the organization, working closely with the Office Manager.
- Strategic Execution: Partner with the Executive Director to implement the organization’s strategic plan, translating long-term vision into measurable quarterly goals.
- Compliance & Risk Management: Ensure all properties, programs, and practices comply with local, state, and federal regulations, as well as trauma-informed safety protocols.
Program Oversight & Excellence
- Staff Management: Oversee the program team, fostering a healthy and collaborative team culture to mitigate vicarious trauma and burnout.
- Program Evaluation: Oversee data collection and impact tracking. Utilize data-driven insights to refine services, ensuring they effectively meet the needs of Amirah’s participants.
- Community Partnerships: Cultivate relationships with local law enforcement, healthcare providers, legal aid, and other crisis-intervention networks to streamline referral pathways.
- Training: Develop and lead trainings on commercial sexual exploitation for peer services providers and community organization, creating awareness in the community about sex trafficking.
Financial Stewardship & Development Support
- Budget Management: Collaborate on annual budget creation and closely monitor departmental spending to maximize donor dollars.
- Grant Compliance: Assist the development team by reviewing grant reporting requirements and ensuring all programmatic metrics are accurately tracked and reported.
- Ambassador Role: Occasionally represent the organization at church partnerships, community events, and fundraising events, sharing the organization’s mission and impact.
- Development: Partner with the Development Director on fundraising activities and strategies. Conduct donor cultivation and stewardship meetings in partnership with Development team members and the Executive Director.
Spiritual Leadership
- Faith Alignment: Ensure all programs, staff interactions, and operational decisions align with the organization’s statement of faith and core values.
Qualifications & Skills
- Must be a professing Christian who is committed to support and promote the Christian foundation of the organization and agree to Amirah’s Statement of Faith.
- Experience: 4-5 years of progressive leadership or administrative experience, ideally within a non-profit, ministry, or social services setting. Experience in anti-trafficking, residential care, or crisis intervention is highly preferred.
- Education: Master’s degree in Business Administration, Non-Profit Management, Social Work, or a related field preferred (strong preference for LCSW, LICSW, or LMHC).
- Trauma-Informed Lens: Deep understanding of the psychological impacts of complex trauma, sexual exploitation, and substance abuse.
- Skills: Exceptional operational skills, budget management, fundraising, and strong verbal/written communication.
- Lived experience welcome.
- Must pass a comprehensive background check.
