Camp Dream provides a 1:1 camper-to-counselor model, ensuring every camper receives individualized attention, support, and encouragement throughout their stay. Our mission is simple but powerful: to create a safe, joyful environment where every camper can experience independence, friendship, adventure, and unforgettable memories.

The Camp Director plays a central role in bringing that mission to life.

    Key Responsibilities

The Camp Director oversees the planning and execution of all camp operations, including:

    • Recruiting, hiring, and training summer staff
    • Processing camper and staff applications
    • Pairing campers with counselors in our 1:1 model
    • Assigning camper and staff housing
    • "Developing activity schedules and coordinating meal planning
    • Managing daily camp operations and staff supervision
    • Coordinating with outside vendors and partners
    • Ensuring a safe, organized, and positive camp environment throughout each session

The Director works closely with the camp leadership team, including the Medical Director, Activity Director, Fishing Coordinator, Arts & Crafts Coordinator, and Junior Counselor Coordinator to ensure every camper receives the highest level of care and support.

    Ideal Candidate

We are looking for someone who thrives in a mission-driven environment and can confidently lead a fast-paced program with both empathy and structure.

    Strong candidates will demonstrate:

    • Exceptional organizational and leadership skills
    • Strong problem-solving ability and calm decision-making under pressure
    • A passion for working with individuals with disabilities
    • The ability to support and motivate a diverse team of staff and volunteers

Experience in education, healthcare, adaptive recreation, or disability services is strongly preferred.

    Support and Transition

The previous Camp Director will remain available to assist with onboarding and to provide guidance during the transition, ensuring the new Director has the support needed for success.

    Why This Role Matters

At Camp Dream, the work we do changes lives.

For many of our campers, this is the one week each year where they experience independence, friendship, adventure, and the freedom to simply be a kid at camp. The Camp Director helps make that possible.
