    Manager, Client Services

    Summary

    Germantown Avenue Crisis Ministry’s (GACM) small professional staff, social work interns and group of highly trained volunteers serve the residents of Northwest Philadelphia. Each week, GACM provides a “one-stop-shop” of social services that include but are not limited to housing, utility, and food assistance to an average of 100 clients. The organization is in immediate need of a Manager, Client Services.

    The successful candidate must possess strong interpersonal skills and cultural competency to work effectively with clients, volunteers, and a diverse base of community partners. The Manager must be able to thrive in a fast-paced environment, be a team player, comfortable fulfilling multiple roles and demonstrate commitment to empowering our clients toward self-sufficiency.

    Roles and Responsibilities

    • Oversee and manage all direct client services including providing direct client services (in-take and assessment, counseling, budgeting, application preparation, information and referral, general counseling, and client service programs).
    • Develop and maintain partnerships and relationships with local, county and state private and public resources to remain current regarding information and services available to address client needs.
    • Establish good working relationships and collaborative arrangements with community groups, politicians, and other organizations to help achieve the goals of the organization.
    • Serve as Neighborhood Energy Center Manager, including attending monthly meetings for Neighborhood Energy Centers, checking all billing, and preparing for audits.
    • Ensure necessary data and statistics on agency operations including client services, and volunteer activities are maintained in order for timely reporting.
    • Supervise social service specialist, social work interns, and volunteers who provide direct client services.
    • Manage client data using various web-based tools including Microsoft Office Suite, Salesforce, and Compass.
    • Analyze client data and prepare reports to drive performance and support the organization in achieving its goals.
    • Make recommendations as appropriate regarding existing client policies and procedures.
    • Provide weekly supervision of field instruction for interns.
    • Develop and conduct orientation and training for all staff and volunteers who provide direct client services.
    • Coach and mentor client service staff and volunteers as appropriate to enhance performance.

    Qualifications – The right candidate will have:

    • Bachelor’s degree and Master of Social Work/Social Services required.
    • Minimum of 5 years social services experience required.
    • Demonstrated working knowledge of public and private supportive services and other resources, including housing, utility and food assistance in the Philadelphia area.
    • Demonstrated ability to advocate, organize, problem-solve, and provide results for the clients served.
    • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to communicate effectively and caringly with a variety of people.
    • Ability to work well independently, and collaboratively as part of a team.
    • Proficiency in spoken and written English required
    • Basic computer skills; proficiency in Word, Excel, Access, Outlook and other Microsoft Office applications; familiarity with Salesforce and Compass preferred
    • Experience managing volunteers desirable
    • Ability to master program details and their combined use to solve client problems.
    • This job requires full-time, on-site presence due to the nature of the role and responsibilities, with no remote or hybrid work schedule options.

    Salary

    • This is a salaried position requiring 40 hours per week.
    • Commensurate with education and experience
