JOB DESCRIPTION
Summary/ Objective
East Side House (ESH) is a community resource in the Bronx and Northern Manhattan. ESH’s Adult & Workforce Programs align with our mission by providing high quality programs and services within community centers and school partnerships.
Reporting to the Program Director, the Social Worker is integral to East Side House’s strategy to organize resources and share leadership to integrate social services into the fabric of the programs and communities we serve. As a member of Adult and Workforce Development team, Social Workers serve as the primary leaders of wrap-around services for program participants and families, design and implement (proactive and preventive) social work programs to promote social and emotional health, respond to day-to-day participant issues and unanticipated crises and their most immediate needs. This position’s direct reports include two case workers and interacts with participants from the Expectant Families and Jobs Plus programs. With a focus on mental health, the Social Worker provides assessments, treatment planning/referrals, crisis intervention and overall coordination of care – improving mental well-being, strengthening relationships and promoting life skills to assist participants with overcoming barriers preventing goal attainment.

Employees must be clear to work at ESH. Employment is contingent upon successful completion of background checks and/or screenings.
Supervisory Responsibility
This position is responsible for supervising and managing the performance of all designated employees assigned to the position within the department.
Physical Demands
This role may involve occasional lifting or moving of items up to 25 pounds and routine use of standard office equipment. Reasonable accommodation may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
Expected Work Schedule
The work schedule expected for this position is: 9:00am – 5:00pm Monday - Friday, as aligned to the needs of the program/ service. The schedule may be adjusted based on ESH’s operational need and funder requirementss, with notice provided whenever possible.
