Background
PLA provides free civil legal assistance to low-income individuals and families in Philadelphia. For Philadelphia residents who are low-income, elderly, or disabled, our legal assistance is often crucial to protecting their homes, their children, their safety, and their livelihood.
This is a part-time position (less than 25 hours per week), and benefits are limited.
PRIMARY FUNCTION
Provide assistance to the administrative staff as directed by the Administrative Manager.
JOB DUTIES
Essential
- Manage incoming and outgoing mail
- Monitor and restock office supplies and frequently used forms
- Monitor and restock kitchen supplies
- Deliver and retrieve documents from the courthouse
- Deposit checks at local bank branch as directed
Other Responsibilities
- Assist administrative staff with case file archiving as directed
- Photocopy and/or scan client documents for the case file
- Orient and train new staff on office procedures and resources
- Manage, operate, and train others to operate office equipment (e.g., phones, copiers, postage machines)

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- Ability to sit for prolonged periods, stand, walk, and lift up to 20 pounds
