The Compliance Director is responsible for overseeing and operationalizing the organization’s compliance program in accordance with federal and New York State regulatory requirements, including OMIG, Medicaid, Medicare, and HIPAA.
- Oversee and manage the organization’s compliance program in alignment with NYS Social Services Law §363-d and 18 NYCRR Part 521
- Review, revise, and operationalize compliance policies and procedures for organizational use and Board approval.
- Develop and implement a structured compliance monitoring and audit plan.
- Conduct routine internal audits across programs and departments.
- Identify compliance risks and implement corrective action plans.
- Oversee compliance intake processes, including anonymous reporting mechanisms and case tracking.
- Manage and document compliance investigations, ensuring timely resolution and appropriate follow-up.
- Maintain centralized and auditable records of compliance activities, issues, and resolutions.
- Ensure proper documentation and tracking of incidents, complaints, and corrective actions.
- Develop and deliver compliance training programs, track completion, and adherence.
- Monitor regulatory changes and ensure organizational alignment with updated requirements.
- Prepare regular compliance reports and dashboards for executive leadership and the Board.
- Support organizational readiness for audits, site visits, and regulatory reviews (OMIG, OMH, OASAS, DOHMH, etc.)
- Collaborate with clinical, finance, HR, and operations teams to integrate compliance into workflows.
- Provide guidance to leadership on compliance-related matters and risk mitigation.
- Assist in the implementation and oversight of compliance systems or third-party platforms (e.g., hotline/case management tools)

Education and/or Work Experience Requirements:
Required:
- LMSW
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in compliance, healthcare, or human services
- Strong knowledge of Medicaid, Medicare, and HIPAA
- Experience working within nonprofit or social services organizations. ▪
Preferred:
- LCSW
- CCEP and/or CPCO certification
- Experience developing or implementing compliance programs.
- Familiarity with compliance tracking systems or case management platforms
