    Member Services Coordinator

    Position Summary

    The Member Services Coordinator (MSC) plays a vital role in supporting the well-being and independence of our members, particularly those who are most vulnerable and may require additional outreach and support. The MSC is responsible for responding to member service requests, maintaining regular contact with members who may be at risk of social isolation or other challenges, and ensuring that their evolving needs are identified and addressed.

    The MSC also supports the Executive Director in recruiting and coordinating volunteers and professional service providers, helping to strengthen the network of resources available to members.

    Cambridge Neighbors is a nonprofit member-driven organization dedicated to promoting healthy aging and aging in place to adults residing in Arlington, Belmont, Cambridge, Somerville, and Watertown by providing them access to resources and services, lifelong learning, and opportunities to connect with one another.

    Key Responsibilities

    Member Support and Engagement

      • Identify members who may be vulnerable due to health, mobility, social isolation, or other circumstances.
      • Establish and maintain regular contact with these members to assess needs, provide support, and facilitate access to appropriate services and resources.
      • Respond promptly and compassionately to member service requests and ensure consistent follow-up.

    Volunteer Recruitment and Coordination

      • Recruit, screen, onboard, and support volunteers.
      • Help match volunteers with appropriate member requests and service opportunities.
      • Maintain volunteer records and assist with volunteer engagement efforts.

    Professional Service Provider Management

      • Recruit, vet, and onboard professional service providers as needed.
      • Maintain relationships with providers and ensure members have access to trusted resources.
      • Assist with coordinating referrals and service connections.

    Member Outreach Program

      • Coordinate the Member Outreach Calls Project.
      • Recruit and support volunteer callers.
      • Monitor outreach efforts and respond to member feedback, concerns, and requests that emerge through the program.
      • Help identify trends and unmet needs among members.

    Administrative Support

      • Maintain accurate records and update databases.
      • Collect and organize member, volunteer, and service provider information.
      • Assist the Executive Director with special projects and other duties as assigned.

    Qualifications

      • Experience working with older adults or aging-services programs preferred.
      • Background in human services, volunteer management, recruitment, customer service, or a related field.
      • Strong interpersonal skills and a genuine interest in building relationships with older adults.
      • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
      • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and follow-through.
      • Ability to work independently, think creatively, and take initiative.
      • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Google Workspace.
      • Experience gathering, tracking, and managing data.
      • Excellent writing and editing skills.
      • Collaborative, flexible, and team-oriented approach.
      • Sense of humor and positive attitude.
      • Bachelor's degree preferred.

    Schedule and Compensation

      • Part-time position: 21 hours per week
      • Salary: Commensurate with experience
