BK ROT is a food waste hauling and composting service powered by youth and young adults who are employed to collect food waste by bike and maintain compost processing sites. All organics hauling is done fossil fuel free, using bicycles and e-bikes (microhauling). The service operates within North Brooklyn and works to increase composting at the neighborhood level. We provide locally sourced and produced compost within our community in support of food justice and soil building projects.
