For 43 years, Legal Outreach has been raising the bar of academic achievement for urban youth from under-resourced communities in New York City. Through intensive legal and educational programs, Legal Outreach works with students from middle school through high school to provide them with the vision, skills, and support they need to matriculate at highly selective colleges.
Legal Outreach seeks a highly organized, detail-oriented, and mission-driven Law-Related Education Assistant to provide administrative and programmatic support for our legal education programs. This individual will play an essential role in ensuring the successful planning, coordination, and implementation of programs that introduce students to the law, strengthen their academic skills, and prepare them for future educational and professional success.

General Responsibilities:
Provide administrative assistance to the Law-Related Education team to facilitate successful implementation of Legal Outreach’s legal education programs, including constitutional law debates, the mentoring program, and the Summer Law Institutes. Responsibilities include:
- Frequent correspondence via phone and email with attorneys, school administrators, parents, and students;
- Maintaining all databases, including collection, organization, and analysis of data;
- Updating and maintaining program manual;
- Scheduling interviews, events, and law lessons for 150+ students;
- Assisting with event preparation, coordination, and implementation;
- Facilitating collecting and recording attendance sheets and evaluations;
- Analyzing evaluations and students’ assessments;
- Creating attractive manuals, flyers, invitations, and newsletters for recruitment and program promotion;
- Hiring, training and supervising administrative intern workers during summer programming;
- Assisting with special projects as the need arises.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree
- High degree of proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, Publisher, and Google Drive applications
- Strong research, writing, verbal, and interpersonal skills
- Ability to take initiative, work independently, multi-task, and work under a deadline.
- Commitment to the organization’s mission and goals
- Familiarity with Salesforce and Canva is a plus, but not a requirement.
