    SUMMARY:

    Legal Counsel for Youth and Children (LCYC) seeks an experienced, passionate, collaborative, and strategic Individual Giving Manager committed to social justice and anti-racism, to deepen and expand LCYC’s individual donor relationships.

    The Individual Giving Manager is a new position and reports to the Director of Development & Communications (DoD). This role will also regularly interact with the Pro Bono Manager (PBM) and Executive Director (ED).

    The Individual Giving Manager must have experience identifying, qualifying, cultivating, soliciting, and stewarding individual donors. This position will be responsible for managing relationships with individual donors, creating specific engagement plans for top donors and collaborating with the DoD and ED to execute, developing a year-round strategy to communicate with community-level donors, and working with the PBM to engage volunteers as prospective donors.

    The Individual Giving Manager is a 1.0 FTE position.

    COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS:

    This is a full-time, overtime exempt, salaried position that requires a willingness to work some evenings and weekends, as well as regular travel throughout King County. LCYC exempt employees have some flexibility in setting their work schedules each week.

    The salary range for the position is $100,203 - $124,630. A new hire with 3 years’ experience will start at $100,203. A new hire with ten or more years’ experience will earn a salary of $124,630. Spanish speakers are eligible for an additional $5,000 annually, beyond their set salary.

    LCYC does not have shared office space. All staff work from home offices. Travel for work is compensated at the Federal reimbursement rate.

    QUALIFICATIONS

    • At least 3 years of experience in individual giving with proven success managing annual giving or mid-level donor programs.
    • Capable of maintaining and building positive, trusting relationships with funders, board members, community partners, staff, and youth.
    • Experience using a Customer Relationship Management (CRM) system.
    • High attention to detail and commitment to data accuracy and confidentiality.
    • Experience developing and executing donor communications, appeals, and stewardship strategies.
    • Aligned with LCYCs mission, values, and principles.
    • Aligned with Community Centric Fundraising principles and has demonstrated commitment to engage in culturally competent relationships and apply anti-racist principles and values to development.
    • Knowledge of trending fundraising strategies, including use of social media.
    • Strategic thinker with strong analytical skills and data-driven decision-making.
    • Intermediate skills in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, other Microsoft 365 applications, and Internet navigation.
    • All LCYC staff are required to pass a background check.

    JOB DUTIES:

    Individual Donor Engagement and Management

    • Build and maintain strong relationships with individual donors, providing personalized stewardship to increase engagement and giving.
    • Work with ED and DoD to coordinate personalized stewardship plans for key donors.
    • Develop and manage a mid-level giving program to bridge annual donors to major gift prospects.
    • Identify potential board members.

    Develop and Manage Annual Giving Strategy

    • Develop and execute a comprehensive annual giving strategy to increase revenue and donor participation.
    • Manage and grow the organization’s donor base, including new donor acquisition and lapsed donor re-engagement.
    • Work with DoD to develop a planned giving program.
    • Work with PBM to convert volunteers into donors.
    • Design and implement segmented donor communications, appeals, and campaigns (direct mail, email, digital, and events).
    • Collaborate with the communications team to ensure consistent messaging and donor experience.

    Data & Reporting

    • Use Little Green Light to track donor activity, analyze trends, and generate performance reports.
    • Monitor and analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) including donor retention, average gift size, and campaign ROI.
    • Ensure data accuracy, confidentiality, and compliance with fundraising regulations and privacy laws.

    All LCYC staff are required to timely track their hours and expenses utilizing LCYC’s online tools, including Clio and Ramp. Additionally, all staff are expected to participate in ongoing professional development trainings, anti-racism trainings, identity group conversations, and project specific workgroups on equity and systemic racism, and to participate in team meetings and bi-annual in-person retreats.

We accomplish our mission through direct legal representation, strong community partnerships, and systemic advocacy. We have four program areas: child welfare, juvenile court, youth and family immigration, and youth homelessness.

    LCYC provides community-based, holistic legal advocacy to expand access to justice for young people in Washington.
