    JOB DESCRIPTION

    Job Title: Coordinator, Philanthropy

    Department: Philanthropy

    Reports To: Senior Director, Philanthropy

    FLSA Status: Non-exempt

    SUMMARY OF PURPOSE OF JOB:

    The Coordinator, Philanthropy plays a key role in supporting and coordinating the organization’s individual, corporate, and foundation fundraising efforts.The Coordinator will report to the Senior Director, Philanthropy, as well as work closely with board members and volunteers, to advance strategic fundraising initiatives and strengthen donor relationships.

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following: Other duties

    • Schedule donor cultivation, briefing, and solicitation meetings on behalf of senior staff, board members, and key volunteers.
    • Maintain the annual fundraising calendar and organize the pipeline of prospective donors to ensure timely activity and progress toward goals.
    • Plan and execute meetings, tours, and special events to engage prospective and current donors.
    • Coordinate internal fundraising meetings, managing logistics, materials, and communications with staff and volunteers.
    • Draft fundraising materials, including letters to current and prospective donors, individualized proposals, briefing memos, talking points, and other preparatory or follow-up correspondence.
    • Process all gifts, generate acknowledgements in a timely and consistent manner, and record gifts and other donor activity in the database.
    • Oversee the organization’s constituent relationship management (CRM) system, ensuring data integrity, consistency, and accuracy.
    • Conduct research on prospective individual, corporate, and foundation donors.
    • Assist in drafting protocol and procedures for the fundraising department.
    • Other duties as assigned.

    SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

    This position does not supervise others.

    EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

    • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent plus two years’ experience in development, non-profit management, or a related field.

    Ability to read, analyze and interpret proposals, special services agreements, basic legal documents and simple instructions.Ability to write emails, memorandums and letters for internal and external communications. Ability to comprehend and aid in composing request for proposals, purchase orders, matrix on comparing proposals. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to volunteers and staff of the organization.

    MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

    Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.

    REASONING ABILITY

    Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

    COMPENSATION

    Annual compensation $54,000 to $62,000, including comprehensive medical benefits and retirement plan.
