Summary
The San Diego Wellness Collaborative is looking for a full-time staff person to oversee corporate operations across all SDWC initiatives and departments. In coordination with the CEO, COO and CFO, the VP of Corporate Operations is responsible for the execution of operational strategy across the organization’s operational domains, including Human Resources, Finance, Technology, Compliance, and Vendor Management. This role ensures that systems, processes, and governance structures are in place to support sustainable growth, operational excellence, and mission delivery.

The VP of Corporate Operations role will contribute significantly to achieving SDWC’s mission to build community-clinical linkages and collaboration for optimal health outcomes and health equity. All responsibilities serve to move the organization towards the SDWC vision – all communities we serve have a lifetime of health and wellness.
Core Responsibilities
Human Resources
- Lead the design and continuous refinement of the organization’s workforce structure, including job architecture, role clarity, and long-term staffing strategy aligned with organizational goals.
- Oversee compensation strategy by conducting benchmarking and ensuring equitable, competitive pay structures aligned with market conditions and internal equity.
- Responsible for performance management systems, including defining evaluation frameworks, managing review cycles, and ensuring organizational accountability.
- Develop and implement comprehensive learning and development strategies to build organizational capacity and ensure compliance with required training.
- Oversee employee benefits strategy, including vendor management, renewal processes, compliance, and staff education.
- Ensure full HR compliance through oversight of PEO relationships and adherence to applicable employment laws and regulations.
Finance
- Establish and maintain strong financial policies, procedures, and internal controls to support compliance and audit readiness.
- Oversee financial systems and processes to ensure accurate reporting, expense management, and alignment with budgets and funding requirements, in coordination with CFO and Controller.
- Partner with COO and executive leadership to support budgeting and forecasting processes and align financial planning with strategic priorities.
- Monitor organizational financial performance by reviewing expenditures and ensuring responsible resource utilization.
- Oversee grant financial management, ensuring proper reporting, expense allocation, and compliance with funder requirements.
Technology & Systems
- Partner with leadership on the development and execution of the organization’s business systems strategy and technology roadmap aligned with operational needs.
- Oversee IT vendors and managed service providers to ensure reliable support, system performance, and cost effectiveness.
- Establish robust document management and system governance practices, including data integrity, access controls, and documentation standards.
- Support system audits, cybersecurity readiness, and compliance efforts in alignment with regulatory requirements.
Compliance & Risk Management
- Develop and maintain enterprise risk management frameworks, identifying risks and implementing mitigation strategies.
- Ensure organizational compliance with corporate, state, and federal regulations through monitoring and internal controls.
- Oversee privacy, HIPAA, and security programs, including policy development and risk monitoring.
- Maintain and enhance compliance programs, policies, and documentation to support ongoing regulatory adherence.
- Ensure compliance with all grant, contract, and funding requirements through structured tracking and reporting.
- Oversee organizational insurance strategy, including coverage analysis, renewals, and compliance alignment.
Contracts & Vendor Management
- Manage the full contract lifecycle, including development, execution, monitoring, and renewal tracking.
- Establish and oversee partner compliance systems, including onboarding, documentation, and ongoing monitoring.
- Lead vendor management strategy, including selection, performance evaluation, and contract oversight.
- Manage consultant relationships, including scope definition, contracting, and performance management.
- Develop scalable operational systems to support growth in partner and vendor networks.
Enterprise & Cross-Initiative Operations
- Support Board governance and committee operations, including preparing materials, reporting, and supporting audit readiness.
- Design and implement systems that strengthen cross-functional collaboration and communication across all initiatives including Be There San Diego, San Diego Accountable Community for Health, and Neighborhood Networks and all departments including Data & Systems, Business Operations, Quality & Training, and Partnerships.
- Ensure operational infrastructure scales effectively as the organization grows across programs and functions.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree in Business, Public Administration, or related field preferred
- 7–10+ years of operations, finance, HR, or systems leadership experience
- Experience in nonprofit, healthcare, or social services environments preferred
- Strong knowledge of compliance, risk, and regulatory environments
- Experience managing vendors, contracts, and operational systems
- Demonstrated success in building and scaling operational infrastructure, processes and teams

Salary / Benefits
This is an exempt full-time position. The annual salary range is $135,000-$150,000 depending on experience and market rates. SDWC offers a comprehensive benefits package (e.g., healthcare, dental, vision, and retirement).
