JOIN A PROGRESSIVE CAMPAIGN IN LA!
Higher Wages Lower Rent Alliance is hiring Community Canvassers to join a progressive campaign in Los Angeles for the upcoming midterm elections. This role will involve door-to-door canvassing, speaking directly with voters, persuasion, and mobilizing community members in support of progressive candidates and increased civic participation.
Qualifications
The Community Canvasser position is an entry-level position. No prior canvassing experience is necessary. Successful applicants should have the following characteristics:
- Punctual and reliable
- Strong communication skills
- Outgoing and comfortable talking to people
- Energetic and enthusiastic
- Able to engage voters through door-to-door conversations
- Interested in voting, elections, and civic participation
- Comfortable working evenings and weekends
Terms of Employment
- Pay: $23.00 per hour
- Gas Stipend: $25.00
- Full-time position; part-time options are available with a minimum of 3 shifts per week
- Must be willing to canvass door-to-door
- Must be available to work evenings and weekends
- This is a temporary campaign position
- Canvassers who demonstrate interest and leadership capacity may have opportunities for advancement into leadership positions on the canvass team

Schedule
The schedule is subject to change based on campaign needs:
- Saturday: 9:30 AM – 6:00 PM
- Sunday – Wednesday: 11:30 AM – 8:00 PM
- Thursday & Friday: OFF
