    Description

    LINGO is looking for a part-time associate who will help the Director manage their schedule, keep track of tasks, and provide administrative support to LINGO’s China-related activities. This includes keeping on top of policy developments, flagging opportunities, researching information and other tasks.

    Role title - China Research and Strategic Coordination Associate

    Location - Remote (China-based preferred)

    Reporting to - Director

    Start Date - asap

    Term - 1 year, 2-3 days per week

    Compensation - CNY 8,000 - 15,000 gross per month (depending on experience and time availability)

    Role and responsibilities

    Approximately half of the time will involve:

    • scheduling and meeting coordination across time zones
    • follow-ups and contact management
    • task, goal and project milestone tracking in a very dynamic environment
    • general administrative support

    The other half will involve:

    • monitoring Chinese policy, institutional, and sector developments
    • conducting open-ended research and synthesis
    • producing short, structured briefings for internal use
    • identifying relevant actors and opportunities in China

    Both aspects are equally important. Strong performance in one area without the other will not be sufficient for long-term success in this role.

    Required skills, attributes and experience

    • Professional proficiency in written and spoken Mandarin
    • Excellent attention to detail
    • Track record of quickly becoming fluent in new topics
    • Ability to operate independently with minimal guidance
    • Comfortable with English as work language in meetings and emails
    • Computer with stable internet connection.
    • Good organizational and time management skills

    We are looking for someone who is comfortable with administrative tasks, and also enjoys independently exploring how systems, institutions, and policy processes are driven.

    Level of Language Proficiency

    Successful candidates will be fluent in written and spoken Mandarin and English
