    Ariva seeks a high-energy, results-oriented Outreach Manager to lead outreach, client recruitment, and retention for our financial capabilities programs. The Outreach Manager will develop and implement strategies to increase client volume, encourage clients to return for continued services, and strengthen integration across Ariva programs. These strategies will include community outreach and canvassing, targeted database campaigns, partnerships and referral networks, tax program integration, community events, and ongoing client engagement.

    Position Description

    Ariva seeks an Outreach Manager to develop and lead a comprehensive outreach, client recruitment, and retention strategy for our financial counseling and entrepreneurship programs.

    The Outreach Manager will identify effective ways to reach new clients, build strong referral networks, develop targeted outreach campaigns, and create strategies that encourage enrolled clients to return for multiple counseling sessions.

    The Outreach Manager will use knowledge of the community, partnerships, client databases, and program data to determine Ariva’s recruitment and retention efforts. The manager will work closely with the program director, financial counseling managers, financial counselors, tax program staff, and other team members to increase enrollment, follow-up services, and continued client engagement.

    Ariva currently offers free financial counseling and education and entrepreneurship support to over 5,000 New Yorkers each year in the Bronx and other underserved communities in New York City.

    This is a full-time, in-person role, with an average schedule of approximately 45 hours per week. The position requires some evening and weekend availability to support community-based programs and events. This job involves frequent local travel to sites around NYC.

    Responsibilities

    Outreach Strategy

    • Develop and implement comprehensive outreach and client recruitment strategies to increase client volume across Ariva’s financial capabilities programs based on program goals and target populations.
    • Conduct and coordinate community canvassing, community events, and other direct recruitment activities to reach prospective clients.
    • Develop targeted campaigns using Ariva’s client databases, including SMS, telephone, and other outreach methods.
    • Coordinate with program managers, administrative staff, and counselors to ensure prospective clients are connected promptly with appropriate services.
    • Track and analyze outreach activities, referral sources, appointments, enrollment, and client retention, and evaluate effectiveness to adjust strategy if needed.
    • Coordinate the distribution of outreach materials across the Bronx and other NYC neighborhoods where Ariva’s programs are provided.

    Client Retention

    • Develop and implement strategies to increase client retention and encourage clients enrolled in the financial counseling and entrepreneurship programs to return for multiple sessions.
    • Develop and implement follow-up and re-engagement campaigns using phone, SMS, and other outreach methods, and work with financial counseling managers and counselors to implement such initiatives.
    • Develop strategies to reconnect inactive and former clients with financial and entrepreneurship services.
    • Identify barriers that prevent clients from returning and develop outreach approaches to improve retention.

    Tax Program Integration

    • Develop and implement outreach strategies to connect Ariva’s tax preparation clients with financial counseling and entrepreneurship support.
    • Work closely with financial counseling managers and tax program staff to integrate financial capabilities outreach and client recruitment into tax season operations.
    • Develop targeted campaigns during tax season to connect tax clients with appropriate services.
    • Develop year-round follow-up strategies to re-engage tax clients and encourage continued participation in Ariva programs after tax season.

    Partnership Development

    • Identify, develop, and maintain partnerships with community-based organizations, government agencies, financial institutions, schools, consulates, businesses, and other potential partners to build strong referral pipelines and increase client volume.
    • Identify new opportunities for Ariva to provide services, workshops, and outreach at partner locations.
    • Represent Ariva at community meetings, events, networking opportunities, and other external activities.

    Core Competencies

    • Minimum three years of experience in community outreach, client recruitment, client engagement, partnership development, community organizing, or a related field.
    • Demonstrated ability to develop outreach strategies and recruit participants for programs and services.
    • Experience developing strategies to retain program participants and reengage inactive participants.
    • Experience with community canvassing, street outreach, or similar client acquisition activities.
    • Strong networking and relationship-building skills for establishing and sustaining community partnerships.
    • Experience using databases to conduct outreach, manage campaigns, and track client engagement.
    • Strong project management, organizational, and time management skills.
    • Fluency in Spanish and English required to serve community members in their preferred language.
    • Demonstrated commitment to and experience working with low-income people and underserved communities.
    • Cultural competency to work with immigrant communities.
    • Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal, including public speaking.

    In addition to the above competencies, the following skills and experience are highly desirable:

    • Bachelor’s degree in a related field.
    • Familiarity with Salesforce or other client management systems.
    • Experience with financial capability, entrepreneurship, or other community-based economic empowerment programs.

    Schedule

    Average schedule of 45 hours per week. The position requires some evening and weekend availability to support community-based programs and events, and during the busy income tax filing season. This position is fully in person in various neighborhoods throughout the Bronx and some Latin American Consulates in NYC.

    Compensation & Benefits

    • Salary: $66,300–$75,000 annually, commensurate with experience.
