About United Vision for Idaho
United Vision for Idaho is a multi-issue progressive network committed to building a powerful, people-driven movement for lasting, structural change. Since 1997, we’ve been uniting communities—rural, suburban, and urban—through shared purpose, collective action, and a vision for a more just and democratic future.
A strategic force in the national pro-democracy movement, we’re not just defending democracy—we’re transforming it into something more inclusive, resilient, and rooted in the power of everyday people.
UVI is about CENTERING PEOPLE. BUILDING POWER. DEFENDING DEMOCRACY
About The United Vision Project
Our groundbreaking national training program teaches people how to have authentic relational conversations (ARC) to de-escalate conflict, navigate complex conversations uncovering shared values and finding commonality and depolarize political polarization through daily virtual practice—empowering people to transform their communities from the inside out.
At a time of deep political division, we are stepping into the breach to have conversations across extreme differences to humanize one another, find areas of common understanding and move together toward a more democratic future for our collective wellbeing. This work is reaching people in areas of the country often dismissed to heal and unite our country.
Since 2020, we’ve been connecting people across extreme difference through peer-to-peer texting campaigns and person-to-person outreach across extreme political difference. We believe that collective action and inclusive dialogue are the foundations of transformative culture change which are the precursors for political behavior and outcomes.
UVP is a national program. We are building the infrastructure to grow our visibility, scale our programs, expand national partnerships, and significantly increase our volunteer base across the country— and we are looking for a dynamic, emotionally intelligent person to help grow and sustain our national volunteer base.
If you thrive in fast-moving environments and are excited about scaling impact through people-powered infrastructure, this is an opportunity to make a huge impact. For more check out our website at www.uvidaho.org and our YouTube channel at https://www.youtube.com/@UVIdaho
Who We’re Looking For
We are seeking an emotionally mature and results-driven person who brings strategic insight, strong political awareness, and an unshakable commitment to pro-democracy work. This role demands both excellence and innovation, as well as the ability to take initiative in a collaborative environment. The ideal candidate understands the opportunity this work presents and embraces the challenge of building something lasting in a rapidly shifting political and cultural landscape and can enthusiastically and professionally promote this work to amplify our impact and increase our volunteer base for our programs.
You must be a self-starter who understands the significance of our work and the level of excellence it demands. We are a team that cultivates creativity and shared leadership, and we are looking for someone who brings both grit and grace to the table—someone who can deliver without needing constant oversight, remain flexible under pressure, and contribute meaningfully to a pioneering movement for national transformation.
This position requires someone who is flexible, self-directed, mission-aligned, and capable of working independently without constant supervision. The candidate will collaborate closely with the Executive Director and Associate Director, and play a key role in building infrastructure, growing partnerships, expanding national exposure, strengthening recruitment systems, and representing UVP’s vision with integrity and enthusiasm.
While this role requires strong initiative and the ability to self-direct, it is not independent from collaboration, supervision, or organizational alignment. The Recruitment and Retention Specialist is expected to contribute proactively within the vision and strategy established by UVP, coordinating closely with leadership to ensure all efforts are mission-aligned, timely, and reflective of our values and priorities.
This is an ideal position for someone who enjoys flexible hours outside of scheduled meetings and trainings, thrives in a remote work setting, and flourishes in an environment built on mutual accountability and results-driven projects.
If you are energized by building something nationally, scaling people-powered infrastructure, amplifying pro-democracy work, and driving measurable volunteer growth across the country, we want to hear from you.
