    Description

    Position Summary

    The Families, Children & Youth Coordinator provides vision, leadership, and coordination for ministries serving preschool through high school students and their families. Working collaboratively with pastors, staff, volunteers, and parents, this role develops meaningful relationships, equips volunteer leaders, and creates engaging opportunities for faith formation, worship, fellowship, and service.

    Primary Responsibilities

    • Coordinate and strengthen ministries for children, youth, and families.
    • Recruit, train, and support volunteer teachers, mentors, and ministry leaders.
    • Develop engaging faith formation opportunities, including Sunday School, youth groups, confirmation, retreats, and family events.
    • Foster connections between church, Trinity Schools, and community partners.
    • Encourage intergenerational relationships through worship, learning, service, and mentoring.
    • Collaborate with pastors and staff to create meaningful worship experiences for children and families.
    • Support parents in nurturing faith at home.
    • Provide administrative oversight, including volunteer scheduling, Safe Haven compliance, budgeting, and program planning.

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor's degree (or equivalent) in Biblical Studies, Christian Education, Children/Youth & Family Ministry, or a related field.
    • Preferred 5+ years of experience in children, youth, or family ministry.
    • Strong Christian faith and understanding of Lutheran theology.
    • Experience recruiting and leading volunteers in a collaborative environment.
    • Knowledge of child and adolescent development.
    • Strong organizational, communication, and relationship-building skills.
    • Self-motivated, adaptable, and passionate about helping young people grow in faith.
