    Description

    Dayenu: A Jewish Call to Climate Action is seeking a new, half-time Program Manager for Spiritual Activism & Education to help develop, manage, and lead Dayenu’s pioneering Spiritual Adaptation programs and resources to inspire and grow the Jewish climate movement.

    This is a new role at Dayenu and an exciting opportunity for a creative, organized, and detail-oriented staff member to help develop new materials to spiritually-resource the Jewish community in the face of the climate crisis, manage a wide array of program offerings, and contribute to the growth of a progressive, young organization that is mobilizing and resourcing the American Jewish community to confront the climate crisis with spiritual audacity and bold political action.

    Location: Remote. Some travel within the US required, including periodic in-person programming and an annual Dayenu staff retreat

    Position Type: 20 hours per week (on average)

    Reporting Structure: The position reports to the Director of Spiritual Activism & Education

    Key Responsibilities

    Program management

    • Help provide day-to-day management of Dayenu’s work to spiritually resource the Jewish climate movement through Climate Torah, Music & Arts, and workshops, including tracking multiple programs and resources, establishing timelines and goals, and developing workplans.
    • Manage operations for Dayenu’s spiritual activism and education offerings, including coordinating our train-the-trainer workshops and program, distributing resources, engaging with external partners, and scouting new opportunities for growth.
    • Collaborate with Dayenu’s Campaigns & Organizing and Communications teams to engage our base of volunteer activists, reach new audiences, and spark and sustain impactful climate action.
    • Gather and analyze program data to assess impact and efficacy, promote learning, and shape future offerings.

    Resource development, curriculum design, and educational leadership

    • Work with Dayenu’s Spiritual Adaptation team to develop new programs, guides, curricula, and other materials, rooted in Jewish wisdom, to resource our growing base and network.
    • Co-facilitate in-person gatherings and trainings, run virtual workshops and programs, and help produce digital offerings.
    • Train and support Dayenu ambassadors and facilitators to bring Dayenu’s spiritual resourcing content to communities of organizers, activists, learners, and artists as a way to sustain and inspire climate action in the American Jewish community and beyond.

    Qualifications

    • Demonstrated ability to successfully manage programs and work well with volunteer leaders
    • 5+ years of experience in education and an ability to work in informal settings with adult learners
    • Excellent, detail-oriented organizational and planning skills and an ability to juggle multiple projects and workstreams
    • Experience with curriculum design and resource creation
    • Demonstrated knowledge of and familiarity with Jewish values, culture, and holiday cycles
    • Excellent oral and written communication skills
    • Ability to work with multi-disciplinary teams
    • Ability to collaborate across lines of difference
    • A commitment to inclusion and equity and excitement to be a part of a growing and diverse Jewish climate justice movement
    • Experience in mental health, spiritual, or pastoral care a plus
    • Knowledge of climate, social justice, and spiritual resourcing landscapes a plus
