    Description

    Overview

    The Membership Assistant supports and assists with projects and activities relating to membership recruitment and retention. They are often the first point of contact with members so will provide member service support first and foremost. Under supervision, this role will also support data administration (from data entry to reporting), direct mail efforts, membership billing, and program and event support. While the majority of the Membership Assistant’s time is dedicated to membership, they may also be providing limited support to other departments of the organization.

    Duties and Responsibilities

    • Corresponding with members, i.e. handling all questions, information requests, and complaints regarding membership
    • Process membership applications, renewals and resignations
    • Assist with membership marketing materials, including social media content creation and development
    • Provide excellent customer service to members by greeting them, in person or on the telephone, and serving as the first line of defense for fielding questions and inquiries.
    • Update and maintain membership database and develop membership reports as requested by the Membership Manager
    • Assist with the development and implementation of member events and activities
    • Assist with the development and implementation of a non-CME programs
    • Collect data, track membership statistics, and prepare reports
    • Perform or assist other miscellaneous duties as assigned by the Membership Manager and Executive Director

    Requirements

    • Bachelor’s degree
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite: Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Teams, Notes
    • Excellent verbal and written communications skills with ability to think logically
    • Attention to detail with the ability to multi-task
    • Organized and diligent with a professional work ethic

    Preferred

    • Minimum of one-year previous experience in membership administration, customer service, alumni relations or sales
    • Desire to shape the department alongside other team members with their own ideas and vision
