    Description

    FLSA Classification: Full-time (35 hours/week), Exempt, Bargaining Unit

    Position Overview:

    This position is a full-time, temporary position (through July 31, 2027) to coordinate a grant-funded project to facilitate the installation of heat pumps, heat pump water heaters, and home weatherization for eligible residents located in west Eugene.

    Essential Functions

    • Prepare solicitation for contractor bids for the home installation of energy efficient appliances
    • Educate and recruit eligible residents in the west Eugene target area
    • Help homeowners navigate any available rebate programs (EWEB, State, or Federal programs)
    • Assist homeowners with Home Energy Scores
    • Facilitate the installation of energy efficient appliances for 30 eligible homeowners
    • Facilitate the installation of home weatherization needs for eligible homeowners
    • Provide educational workshops for homeowners on electrification and home weatherization needs
    • Maintain timely reporting to adhere with grant deadlines and deliverables
    • Engage key stakeholders and community members in successful completion of project and establish a framework for future project expansion
    • All work must be completed by July 31st, 2027

    Minimum Qualifications

    • Strong interpersonal and communication skills. Approachable, empathetic, and able to explain technical topics clearly
    • Applicants must be able to work well with a variety of people including homeowners, contractors, and partner orgs, and be comfortable working with diverse backgrounds in historically underserved neighborhoods
    • Detail oriented, able to work under tight deadlines
    • Able to work well independently with minimal supervision, as well as work within a cohesive team environment
    • Proficiency in basic computer tools (email, data entry, virtual meeting platforms)
    • Reliable transportation to attend meetings, events, and home visits

    Preferred Qualifications

    • Background in or understanding of home energy efficiency, building science, HVAC, or related fields
    • Experience working in community outreach, social services, or nonprofit engagement
    • Spanish fluency a plus

    Training and Support

    • This position will be provided training and support through Electrify Oregon and Rewiring America
    • Technical content on home energy efficiency, electrification and financing options
    • Skills-based coaching modules (interpersonal communication, safety, engagement)

    • None

    Physical Requirements

    • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer
    • Must be able to lift up to 35 pounds on occasion

    Required Travel

    Local travel within the Eugene area is expected, with possible other travel for training or meetings.

    Bilingual (English/Spanish) is preferred, but not required.
