Data Coordinator, Gifts & Records (Office of Development)

Reporting to the Director of Gift Administration, the Data Coordinator will provide back-up support to the Data Managers, oversee aspects of the gift processing team, and assist with gift entry, gift acknowledgment, finance deposits and reconciliation, and perform other tasks as it relates to the database and the overall goal of the department.
This role operates within a hybrid work model, with on-site expectations established in alignment with
departmental priorities and evolving organizational guidelines. Employees must reside within a commutable distance of the 42nd Street Midtown NYC office.

Responsibilities
(in order of importance and/or frequency)
- Provide support to the Data Managers
- Oversee the workflow process
- Work with Annual Giving to review and approve data for direct mail campaigns
- Process gifts received by check, credit card, wire, stock, and other sources
- Import gifts from online platform into fundraising database
- Scan gifts into workflow for processing
- Generate tax receipts: merge letters, review information for accuracy, print, stuff, mail and upload letters to database
- Prepare gifts for deposit by the Finance departments
- Answer the main phone line, route calls and respond to inquiries
- Monitor the gift processing folder and respond to inquiries in a timely manner
- Assist with database data clean-up – update addresses and salutations, create new records and other data entry duties
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience working in an office or Master’s and 1 year experience. Preference is given to those with experience working as an administrative assistant in a development office or in nonprofit gift processing
- Proficiency in Microsoft Products (Word, Excel, etc.)
- Experience working with a database, Raiser’s Edge experience preferred.
