Position Overview:
The Communications Manager is responsible for developing, executing, and overseeing all aspects of The REACH Institute’s communications and marketing strategy in order to advance REACH’s mission and support the Strategic Plan. This includes content creation, digital marketing, branding, and partner relationship management, all while ensuring that communications align with the organization’s strategic growth goals and branding guidelines.
This role reports to and works closely with REACH’s Director of Outreach and Growth. The Communications Manager is central to REACH's continued growth and impact, leading strategic marketing initiatives that increase awareness of the organization's programs, drive clinician enrollment in training opportunities, and strengthen REACH's position as a national leader in pediatric mental health care education. Working across a diverse range of audiences—including primary care clinicians, mental health professionals, health systems, residency programs, funders, and partners—the Communications Manager owns complex, cross-functional marketing initiatives that help scale REACH's evidence-based training programs and expand access to high-quality mental health care for children and families.
20% – Strategy & Analytics
- Develop and refine recruitment and marketing strategies to support program enrollment goals.
- Establish, monitor, and report on key marketing performance indicators, including program registrations, conversion rates, audience growth, and campaign effectiveness, and deliver a monthly performance report to Senior Leadership.
- Use enrollment and campaign data to continuously refine recruitment strategies and improve performance across programs.
- Contribute to long-term planning related to audience growth, market positioning, and organizational visibility.
40% – Marketing Execution
- Execute integrated marketing campaigns across email, website, social media, and other channels.
- Manage and optimize REACH’s website to support organizational objectives.
- Develop and manage content and promotional materials that support clinician recruitment and organizational priorities, such as fundraising, scholarship promotion, and conference presence.
- Provide communications support for internal initiatives, organizational announcements, events, and special projects.
40% – Project Management & Relationship Management
- Lead cross-functional communications projects from concept through completion, ensuring timelines, deliverables, and approvals remain on track.
- Manage relationships with external vendors, consultants, and partners, providing strategic direction and coordinating implementation.
- Serve as the central point of coordination for marketing and communications initiatives across departments and stakeholders.
Qualifications and Experience
- A Bachelor’s Degree in communications, marketing, business, public policy, journalism, or a related field required.
- At least 8+ years’ professional experience in Communications, Marketing and Public Relations.
- Experience in healthcare communications with direct media relationships is a plus.

- Demonstrated experience developing and executing integrated marketing and communications strategies that support organizational growth goals and audience engagement.
- Exceptional project management and organizational skills, with a proven ability to manage multiple complex, time-sensitive projects simultaneously while balancing competing priorities and stakeholders.
- Comfort owning performance outcomes and using data to evaluate success, adjust strategy, and drive continuous improvement.
- Strong copywriting and editing skills, with experience developing content across multiple formats and channels. Experience ghostwriting for executives or subject matter experts is a plus.
- Experience managing email marketing campaigns for large professional audiences, including audience segmentation, list management, testing, and performance analysis.
- Experience managing organizational websites using WordPress or comparable content management systems, including backend content management, page creation, technical troubleshooting, and coordination with developers and vendors.
- Experience managing and executing cross-platform social media strategies and content calendars across multiple channels.
- Proficiency with Canva and Adobe Creative Suite, including the ability to create and adapt branded visual assets and marketing collateral.
- Working knowledge of graphic design principles and visual storytelling, with the ability to develop materials that align with established brand standards.
- Experience analyzing marketing and communications performance data and using insights to inform strategy and improve outcomes.
- Comfort working in CRM and marketing platforms; experience with Salesforce is preferred.
- Experience supporting training recruitment, event marketing, enrollment campaigns, or other revenue- or participation-driving initiatives is strongly preferred.
- Bonus: Passionate about expanding access to mental health care.
Location and Travel
- This position is flexibly based for the right candidate, with a preference for someone who lives near New York City and can come into the office as needed.
- Able to travel and attend meetings and events nationally.
