    West End House (WEH) is a youth development organization and community anchor in Boston’s Allston neighborhood, serving young people from across the city. Since 1906, WEH has empowered youth to succeed academically and in life through high-impact programs that promote learning, creativity, wellness, leadership, and economic mobility.

    THE OPPORTUNITY:

    Summer programs at the West End House provide fun filled activities and opportunities for more than 200 young people aged 7 to 18 in our 47,000 square foot facility. The Summer Program Assistant will support program staff in program delivery and facilitate activities independently for groups of children and teens. If you’re passionate about youth development and about creating engaging summer programming that makes a meaningful impact on kids and teens, this role is for you.

    KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Guide & supervise members through their daily activities which include STEM activities, social recreation, creative play, fitness, swimming, visual arts, and performing arts.
    • Facilitate developmentally appropriate activities.
    • Assist staff to ensure activities meet member needs.
    • Provide a safe and nurturing environment for group members.
    • Supervise field trips, mealtimes, and outdoor activities as needed

    SCHEDULE & COMPENSATION:

    • This position is a temporary, hourly role.
    • 8-hour shifts will be Monday – Friday. Summer program runs 8:30 am 6pm
    • Ideal candidate would start on June 22nd, 2026 and end on August 26th, 2026
    • Pay rate: $18-$20 per hour, depending on experience.

    WHO WE’RE LOOKING FOR:

    • 1+ years’ experience in youth development and summer programming
    • High School diploma or equivalent
    • Demonstrated experience in facilitating age-appropriate activities.
    • “Hands-On” mentality – candidate must work directly with kids and families.
    • Strong group facilitation skills balancing youth needs and interests.
    • Ability to relate to culturally diverse groups of youth as an instructor and mentor.
    • Thrives in a collaborative and fast-paced environment
    • Focused on fun and learning for young people
